Job description

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we're the people who keep the cloud running. Amazon Web Services (AWS) are seeking Logistics Transportation Specialists as part of our Work Based Learning Program (WBLP). This position requires the successful candidate report to a site location. Amazon has multiple WBLP trainee openings in 2026. Trainees will participate in our 12-month work and training program in our Maryland facilities.
All physical requirements are expected with reasonable accommodations:
Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41+ pounds
Ability to work in an environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in primary responder rotation and provide after-hours support as needed
Working in cramped and/or elevated and/or noisy environments
Bending, lifting, stretching, reaching, standing and walking for up to 8+ hours a day
Ascending and descending ladders, stairs, and gangways safely and without limitation

Key job responsibilities
Load and unload company vehicles for delivery and return
Complete pre-trip inspection documentation
Deliver inventory from warehouse to data center via cargo van or freight truck
Pick up inventory from data center to warehouse
Monitor transportation ticket queues
Transact inventory virtually within internal inventory systems
Operate forklift and cherry picker
Clean and organize work areas
Communicate effectively with warehouse, data center, and logistics teams
Additionally
This role may require travel between multiple sites within the same geographical region in a personal vehicle, with the ability to drive in different weather conditions
This role may require supporting partner team backlogs including pulling customer requests, receiving inventory, reverse logistics functions, and cycle counting inventory
A day in the life
The Logistics Transportation Specialist transports inventory from location to location, reviews delivery ticket queues, and monitors ongoing demand. They ensure proper stock levels are maintained across all locations through directed movement between sites to support build and repair activities. Working with the Logistics Manager, they ensure timely deliveries and the correct items are moved. Regular and ongoing communications with peers and leadership to resolve issues and help them understand our business requirements necessitates a high-level communicator.
Logistics Transportation Specialists are responsible for accurate data entry and resolving questions from peer organizations.
Responsibilities can include manual tasks, such as assembling, addressing, stamping and arranging for the delivery of merchandise and materials. They may also assist in daily scheduling of deliveries and pick-ups to and from production locations.
Logistics Transportation Specialists are expected to understand all aspects of production, adhere to strict safety standards, maintain very high quality, and be willing and able to work on powered equipment (i.e forklift or cherry picker).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
