Job description

๐Ÿš› Own the Freight. Own the Savings. Own the Results.
๐Ÿ“ Role: Transportation Logistics Coordinator
๐Ÿ“ Location: Fort Worth, TX (Onsite)
๐Ÿ’ฐ Compensation Range: $85,000-$90,000 DOE
At Coastal Trading Ventures, we're building the operational infrastructure to support one of the fastest-growing eCommerce fulfillment operations in the country - and we're looking for a highly capable, results-driven Transportation Logistics Coordinator to take ownership of our domestic freight operations.
This role is critical to how we move product: managing high-volume LTL and FTL freight - exceeding 200 trucks per month - leading our drop-trailer programs, and driving down transportation costs through sharp negotiation, rigorous auditing, and hands-on execution. If you love digging into freight spend, hunting down bad accessorial charges, and keeping a drop-trailer pool running like a well-oiled machine, this is your seat.
Luminize and Coastal Trading Ventures (CTV) operate as two halves of the same business. Luminize is the front-end Amazon growth partner, headquartered in San Diego, CA, driving strategy, advertising, and brand management. Coastal Trading Ventures is the back-end physical engine, based in Fort Worth, TX, running the warehousing, receiving, inventory management, product prep, and fulfillment that bring every Luminize-managed brand to the customer. The two share leadership, systems, and people - a role posted under either name is part of one connected operation.
๐ŸŽฏ What You'll Be Doing
Freight Cost Optimization & Auditing (Top Priority)
  • Strategically analyze freight lanes and spend data to identify opportunities to convert high-cost LTL freight into consolidated FTL shipments
  • Rigorously audit all freight invoices - identifying and disputing improper charges, including invalid accessorial fees, re-weigh adjustments, and detention/demurrage fees
  • Actively monitor and manage carrier dwell and loading times to eliminate costly live-load detention charges

Shipment & Drop-Trailer Program Management
  • Utilize our Transportation Management System (TMS) to coordinate 200+ monthly shipments across Inbound, Direct-to-Customer, and Direct-to-Amazon streams
  • Serve as the primary manager of our drop-trailer pools - coordinating daily "pulls" of full trailers and ensuring timely return of empties to prevent facility overcrowding
  • Proactively track trailer dwell time to keep equipment turning within negotiated "free time," avoiding per-diem or rental penalties
  • Partner closely with the warehouse team to maximize truck utilization and pallet counts, making sure we're never shipping underutilized space ("shipping air")

Reporting & Process Improvement
  • Develop and report on key transportation KPIs, including Cost Per Load, On-Time Performance, and Drop Trailer Utilization
  • Lead initiatives to streamline the freight booking process and improve communication between brand partners, the warehouse team, and our carrier base

โ€ข What You Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in logistics/transportation, with a focus on managing high-volume LTL and FTL freight operations
  • Mandatory: proven, specific experience managing Drop Trailer / Drop & Hook programs
  • A documented track record of lowering freight costs through negotiation, mode conversion, or meticulous freight auditing
  • Experience with Amazon FBA/Direct Ship requirements strongly preferred
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUPs) for analyzing rate sheets and managing trailer aging reports
  • Practical, hands-on experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS) or Yard Management System (YMS)
  • Exceptional attention to detail, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

๐ŸŽ Benefits & Perks
Our people are our #1 priority. Our benefits include:
  • Medical plan
  • Paid vacation

๐Ÿ’ต Compensation Transparency
We've listed a range of $85,000-$90,000/year to account for varying levels of experience, negotiation track record, and depth of TMS/drop-trailer program management. Where you land will depend on how your experience aligns with the role.
We compensate based on value and impact, not just years on paper, and we're happy to have open conversations throughout the process.
๐Ÿ“ˆ Growth & Career Opportunities at Coastal Trading Ventures
Growth isn't just something we drive in our freight network - it's how we think about our people.
You'll have visibility into clear career paths and what it takes to advance into senior logistics, operations, or leadership roles. You'll benefit from:
  • Mentorship from experienced operations and logistics leadership
  • Cross-functional exposure to warehouse operations, supply chain, and brand partner teams
  • A culture that rewards initiative, ownership, and follow-through

If you're ready to take ownership of something that matters and grow with it, you'll be in good company here.
