Marketplaces Manager

Job description

We're hiring a Marketplaces Manager to drive performance on one of the fastest-growing parts of the Create business. You'll run day-to-day on Amazon and own Walmart.com, Target.com, and other marketplaces end-to-end, including new marketplace expansion.

This is a true ownership role with a high impact on the business. You'll operate the Amazon account across PPC, catalog, PDPs, deals, and account health, working from a proven playbook with the Director of Marketplaces as your strategic partner.

This role is for someone who:

  • Lives in Amazon Seller Central and knows what it takes to win on the platform
  • Thinks like an owner, not a coordinator
  • Is analytical to the core — every decision ties back to a number, grounded in incrementality and profitable growth
  • Communicates clearly — you can turn performance data into a narrative the whole team acts on
  • Is obsessively organized — tracks every moving piece across campaigns, listings, deals, and launches without missing a beat
  • Is fast, resourceful, and doesn't wait to be told what to do
  • Wants to build across multiple marketplaces, not just run one
What You'll Do

Amazon Execution & Strategy

You'll partner with the Director of Marketplaces on Amazon strategy and own the day-to-day execution behind it:

  • Run PPC day-to-day: performance audits, keyword research, campaign creation, bid, budget, and keyword adjustments, and negative-term management
  • Manage the catalog: listing creation, variations, bundles, and backend attribute audits
  • Optimize PDPs: copy, imagery, A+ content, Brand Store, and Brand Story
  • Own account health and compliance: proactive monitoring, opening and resolving seller support cases, and ensuring policy adherence
  • Schedule and QA deals, Lightning Deals, and tentpole events (Prime Day, BFCM)
  • Monitor pricing and Buy Box integrity across channels and flag suppression risks
  • Partner with Ops on inbound planning, flagging coverage risks like stockouts, Buy Box suppression, and velocity shifts

Marketplace Ownership & Expansion

  • Own strategy and execution end-to-end across Walmart.com, Target.com, Instacart, and other non-Amazon marketplaces
  • Lead expansion into new marketplaces: evaluate, launch, scale, and optimize
  • Tailor strategy to each platform — what wins on Amazon isn't what wins on Walmart.com

Reporting & Communication

  • Own marketplace performance reporting and communicate results, risks, and opportunities to the broader team
  • Monitor spend, sales, and inventory flags across all marketplaces and flag anomalies fast: CVR drops, organic rank shifts, stockout risk, Buy Box loss
  • Track organic rank on priority keywords and monitor competitors and category movement using our marketplace intelligence stack
  • Proactively surface new tests, tactics, and growth opportunities, not just report on what happened

Requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience managing marketplaces (Amazon required; Walmart.com and Target.com a strong plus)
  • VMS/CPG background or experience in another high-repeat-purchase category
  • Deep Amazon Seller Central expertise across PPC, catalog, PDPs, and account health
  • Fluency with Amazon ad software and marketplace intelligence tools (Helium 10, Smart Scout, or similar)
  • Strong analytical mindset, focused on incrementality and profitable growth, not vanity metrics
  • Clear communicator — able to turn marketplace performance into insights the whole team can act on
  • Organized and process-oriented — you can manage a lot of moving pieces without dropping any

Nice to Have

  • Agency experience managing marketplace accounts across multiple brands
  • Experience launching a brand on a new marketplace from scratch
  • Familiarity with Shopify and broader DTC ecommerce metrics
  • Background in health, wellness, or sports nutrition
  • Comfort with AI-assisted workflows — we build with Claude, and expect you to work smarter with it too

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation including salary and equity
  • Fully paid health, dental, and vision insurance, plus 401(k)
  • Downtown Manhattan office (4 days in office), with flexible work setup and 15 days of PTO
