Job description

We are seeking a Shipping Receiving Clerk to become an integral part of our team! You will help coordinate incoming and outgoing shipment activities.

  • Schedule outbound shipments, including preparation of documentation, management of packaging materials, and packaging of product to be shipped as well as arrangement of transportation services.
  • Utilize UPS/FedEx software effectively and provide summary reporting upon request
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure a seamless flow of materials and information to assure outstanding service level to customers
  • Pack and process products sent out for specialty services and receive products upon completion 
  • Assist in the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles
  • Provide back-up support to department
  • Communicate effectively with department personnel to facilitate production orders
  • Follow instructions as provided by supervisor
  • Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specifications
  • Cooperate with other employees in the department and maintain a safe working environment
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area

In addition to these responsibilities:

  • Oversee and assist second shift late day loading of trucks.
  • Complete dispersal of receiving product, move into stock.
  • Clear the dock in preparation for next day’s activities.
  • Complete any late day packaging to prepare for next day’s shipments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized and safe work area
  • Complete assigned work within given timeframe and according to specifications
  • Cooperate with other employees in the department to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Adhere to all company safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of shipping/receiving experience is required.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Understanding of inventory control is preferred.
  • Ability to work overtime when required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to arrive promptly for shift and stand and/or walk for duration of shift.
  • Ability to hear, speak, kneel, bend, and use a step ladder or stool.
  • Ability to push a cart/pallet jack with up to several hundred pounds is required.
  • Capable of lifting 40 pounds.
  • Capable of working in a manufacturing environment.
