In this vital role, you will be the backbone of our delivery operations, ensuring timely and safe transportation of freight within local routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with a passion for excellent service, will help keep our supply chain moving smoothly. We are looking for motivated drivers who thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in their work. This position offers the opportunity to operate various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, refrigerated trailers, tanker trucks, and roll-off trucks, all while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate tractor-trailers and other commercial vehicles across designated local routes, ensuring on-time deliveries
  • Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques or equipment such as forklifts when necessary
  • Navigate efficiently using GPS navigation systems to optimize routes and meet delivery schedules
  • Handle logistics cargo with precision, including hazardous materials and dangerous goods when qualified and compliant with FMCSA and hazardous materials regulations
  • Comply strictly with DOT (Department of Transportation), FMCSA, and other regulatory requirements governing commercial truck driving and cargo handling
  • Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly
  • Load and secure various types of freight such as refrigerated goods, flatbed cargo, or tanker loads according to safety protocols
  • Maintain accurate documentation for deliveries, pickups, load & unload activities, and compliance logs

Qualifications

  • Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record; experience operating tractor-trailers is essential

  • Familiarity with manual transmission trucks and different trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
  • Ability to handle freight safely through manual handling techniques; experience with forklift operation is a plus
  • Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT regulations, hazardous materials regulations, and safety protocols for commercial trucking
  • Excellent navigation skills using GPS systems; ability to plan efficient routes under time constraints
