Every day we face the challenges of a fast-paced market and expanding technology set. And we're building at a scale only Amazon is capable of. The Prime Video Sports team is a single-threaded-owner, uniquely positioned to execute our vision across the entire Prime Video stack to deliver the most compelling new experiences to our customers.

If this sounds like the type of experience you'd like to help build - apply here and let's chat!
Who we are:
We are deeply connected with the idea that live sports events are fundamentally different: there is only one shot at delivering the moment until it is forever lost. Our mission is to make sure that our customers never miss a single moment of the sports they love. To do this we need to deliver best-in-class live sports infrastructure, testing, monitoring, and operations to optimize the delivery of live sports experiences at scale.

Our team engineers for speed, quality, availability, and scale. As Prime Video has grown, we've increased the depth and breadth of video products we support, with a corresponding increase in the associated size and complexity of our engineering activity and the load on our services. Our goal is to adapt our architecture to maintain and improve our velocity of delivery for customers in the face of these changes, and for our services to be on and error-free 24/7, especially for high-profile, exclusive content.

With AI as a transformative force, we're at an inflection point that enables us to unlock new opportunities in predictive analytics, automated defect analysis and mitigation, and automated operations that were previously beyond our reach.
What we're looking for:
We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer that's excited to build innovative technologies that define the future of live streaming. Successful candidates for this position demonstrate ability to multi-task, quickly adapt to new development environments and changing business requirements, learn new systems, create reliable/maintainable code, find creative and scalable solutions to difficult problems, and ability to communicate clearly and concisely both written and orally. If you are the one that's excited about entrepreneurial thinking, creating technology solutions for complex problems we want to hear from you.
What you will do here:
You will provide technical leadership and vision to the experiences and services teams

You will ensure that the best engineering practices are followed and that our software is designed to be responsive, reliable, and maintainable. You will work closely with other teams in Prime Video and Amazon to architect solutions that will scale to hundreds of millions of customers.
What you will get from us:
A great team to work with and the chance to build a top tier services at a proven top tier company. You will get a startup like culture with the stability of an established industry leader

You will get support and resources from some of the smartest people in the industry to continue learning.
Key job responsibilities
1. Define, design, and implement multi-tier distributed services and customer experiences
2. Be involved in designing, implementing, and testing of major features
3

Estimate engineering effort, plan implementation, and rollout system changes that meet requirements for functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and adherence to development goals and principles.
4. Effectively collaborate in a fast-paced environment with multiple teams in large organization for full stack development both backend as well as front end.
A day in the life
We are looking for smart, motivated Software Development Engineers who can help in building an automation platform to control the lifecycle of live events (sports, news, concerts) using latest technologies such as machine learning and computer vision. If you have experience building large-scale, high-performance, customer-friendly products and are interested in designing and implementing distributed systems to handle large datasets, complex domains, and problems at Amazon scale, this is the job for you

This is an exciting role, offering a customer-obsessed engineer an opportunity to learn and use a broad array of technologies to make a real impact. Our architecture leverages the latest in AWS cloud technologies including EC2, S3, DynamoDB, Kinesis, and Cloudfront in supporting billions of requests from millions of Prime Video users.
