Job description

Amazon Web Services is seeking a Senior Applied AI Solutions Architect to support our Federal Financial Regulatory customers in the Arlington, VA and Washington, DC area. This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. Citizen and must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required by the customer.
Are you excited to help Federal Financial Regulators harness the power of artificial intelligence and machine learning to advance their mission

Eager to work across a portfolio of agencies tackling fraud detection, market surveillance, regulatory reporting, and consumer protection through applied AI. Thrilled to be a key part of Amazon, who has been investing in Machine Learning for decades, pioneering and shaping the world's AI technology. Come join us!
At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we are helping the federal government build and deploy AI solutions in the cloud.

We are applying AI and machine learning to complex regulatory challenges - from automating document-intensive workflows and extracting insights from unstructured data to building intelligent systems that augment human decision-making at scale.
AI is transforming how financial regulators operate. Agentic architectures are enabling autonomous reasoning and action across multi-step workflows. Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) is unlocking institutional knowledge trapped in decades of regulatory filings, enforcement actions, and market data

Intelligent document processing is turning mountains of paper into structured, actionable intelligence. Given the scale, sensitivity, and complexity of these workloads, the cloud is the ideal place to build and deploy them - and AWS is the leader in this space. We're looking for someone passionate and deeply excited about applied AI who is devoted to helping federal financial regulators understand how AI can make a transformative difference to their mission.
As a Senior Applied AI Solutions Architect (SA), you will be the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for designing applied AI solutions that help federal financial regulatory agencies automate workflows, accelerate decision-making, and drive down costs

You will work closely with other Specialist and Generalist Solutions Architects to enable large-scale customer use cases and drive adoption of AI/ML across the federal financial portfolio. You will interact with customers and SAs in the field, providing technical guidance on AI/ML engagements, and you will develop white papers, reference architectures, and presentations to enable customers and partners to fully leverage applied AI on AWS. You will also create field enablement materials for the broader SA population, helping them integrate AI solutions into customer architectures.
You must have deep technical experience working with technologies related to artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, or generative AI

A strong background in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related technical discipline is preferred, in addition to experience helping customers architect enterprise-grade AI/ML solutions. You should be familiar with modern AI patterns and architectures - including agentic systems, retrieval-augmented generation, intelligent document processing, conversational AI, and classification/anomaly detection - as well as the broader ecosystem of AI/ML tooling. You must be comfortable operating in Python data science environments and have the ability to leverage this knowledge to help AWS customers evaluate approaches and build production-ready solutions.
Candidates must have outstanding communication skills and be deeply technical, with the ability to engage AWS customers at any level - from agency executives to data scientists and developers

Previous experience with AWS is desired but not required, provided you have experience building large-scale AI/ML solutions. You will get the opportunity to work directly with senior engineers at customers, partners, and AWS service teams, influencing roadmaps and driving innovation.
If you are someone who enjoys innovating, likes solving hard problems, and wants to work at the cutting edge of applied AI in the federal financial regulatory space, we would love to have you on the team.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen.
