Job description

🚜 Ready to Heavy-Lift Your Career? Join GFL as a CDL Roll-Off Driver!
Location: Brunswick / Bolivia, NC
Position Type: Full-Time, Regular
Schedule: 40 hours/week
About the Role
Got serious precision driving skills and love a dynamic workday where no two stops are exactly the same? We’re looking for a top-tier CDL Roll-Off Driver to hit the road with GFL Environmental in Brunswick County!
As a Roll-Off Driver, you’ll be the muscle behind major commercial, industrial, and construction projects in our area. You'll operate heavy-duty roll-off hoist trucks to drop off, pick up, and haul large open-top containers and compactors—all while staying local and getting home to your family every single night.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Master the Heavy Haul: Safely drive and operate heavy roll-off trucks to haul waste, construction debris, or recyclable materials across local routes.

  • Hook, Lift, & Roll: Operate hydraulic hoist mechanisms to smoothly load, unload, and transport 10-to-40-yard containers and industrial compactors.

  • Precision Placement: Navigate tight job sites, construction areas, and commercial properties using key maps, GPS, and spot-on mirror work.

  • Safety First: Perform mandatory pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, secure heavy loads properly, and adhere strictly to local, state, and company safety guidelines.

  • Deliver Great Service: Serve as a trusted representative of GFL by interacting professionally with site managers, business owners, and local contractors.

What We’re Looking For
  • Credentials: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) in good standing.

  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of commercial driving experience (Roll-Off experience is a huge plus, but transferable heavy-vehicle experience or CDL school certificates are welcome!).

  • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb up and down from the truck cab/bed, and hook up heavy cables and safety chains throughout the shift.

  • Great Mindset: Dependable work ethic, strong spatial awareness, and a commitment to keeping safety top-of-mind.

Why Drive with GFL?
  • Home Daily: Enjoy predictable local schedules—no sleeping in truck cabs or multi-day road trips.

  • Competitive Pay & Benefits: Complete health, dental, and vision insurance packages, plus a 401(k) and paid time off.

  • Top-Notch Equipment: Fleet reliability you can count on every day.

  • Green & Growing: Join an industry leader with plenty of room for long-term career stability and advancement.
