Job description

Overview
The Director - Amazon U.S. Sales will provide leadership and strategic direction to drive revenue in excess of $600MM, strategy and execution of sales initiatives to ensure the attainment of BISSELL volume and profit objectives across Amazon U.S. channels. This individual will own the end-to-end relationship with Amazon, driving profitable growth, optimizing performance, and elevating our brand presence in one of the most critical retail channels. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of Amazon's ecosystem, proven experience scaling sales in eCommerce, and strong cross-functional leadership skills.
Responsibilities
  • Channel Ownership:
    • Develop and execute the Amazon U.S. sales strategy, managing all aspects of the business including revenue growth, profitability, product assortment, and customer experience.
  • Business Development:
    • Drive top-line sales and market share by identifying growth opportunities, negotiating with Amazon Retail, and expanding category presence.
  • P&L Management:
    • Own the Amazon U.S. channel P&L, with team responsibility for forecasting, pricing, trade investments, and promotional planning to achieve revenue and margin targets.
  • Strategic Partnerships:
    • Serve as the primary point of contact with Amazon stakeholders, building senior-level relationships and advocating for the brand.
  • Marketing & Merchandising:
    • Partner with marketing and content teams to lead vision and strategy for optimizing product detail pages, advertising campaigns, and promotional activities to maximize ROI.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Collaborate with supply chain, operations, and finance teams to ensure in-stock performance, demand planning accuracy, and efficient fulfillment while eliminating chargebacks
  • Data & Insights:
    • Leverage Amazon and partner portal analytics to track performance, identify trends, and implement data-driven strategies.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Build and manage a high-performing team focused on Amazon account management, operations, and performance marketing. Responsible for 6+ FTE.

Qualifications
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive sales or eCommerce experience, with at least 5 years managing Amazon U.S. (Vendor Central and/or Seller Central) at scale.
  • Expertise: Deep knowledge of Amazon's business models, retail media platforms (DSP, Sponsored Ads, etc), and category dynamics.
  • Track Record: Proven success in driving significant revenue growth, improving profitability, and scaling operations within Amazon or a comparable marketplace.
  • Leadership: Strong people management skills, with experience leading cross-functional and high-performance teams.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional ability to interpret data, develop insights, and translate into actionable strategies.
