Job description

The Ring team is looking for a passionate and talented Android Software Development Engineer who has experience building world-class mobile apps. You will be responsible for developing mobile applications that interact seamlessly with our devices and delight our customers.
You will join a team that owns some of the most important functionality in the Ring app. With a huge audience and an exciting roadmap, this is a rare opportunity to shape the community experience for millions of users.

Key job responsibilities
- Design and build features for Ring mobile applications
- Improve mobile application architecture
- Develop features and solve problems using Android Studio, Kotlin, AI, and a variety of other tooling
- Develop with the performance, quality, and responsiveness of in mind
- Collaborate with a cross-functional agile team to create, and deliver new features
- Ensure operational excellence by resolving application issues and fix bugs
- Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
- Use AI to deliver features efficiently - this can include creating features, unit tests, generate code, documents, tickets, resolve defects, optimize code, and much more
A day in the life
- Develop features which are used by millions of customers each day
- Get to use the latest and greatest AI technologies in order to deliver high quality features
- Have an opportunity to support and influence key decisions within the mobile platform and promote best coding practices
- Work closely with other team members to ensure new features are implemented in extensible, maintainable ways
- Regularly work with backend developers to help support how our app integrates with back-end services
- Write well-tested code using modern architectural principles

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 3+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 3+ years of Android development experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience in debugging, profiling, and implementing software engineering best practices in large-scale systems
- 1+ years of experience using generative AI tools to deliver features

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
