Superior Mechanical Services, Inc. provides mechanical and Plumbing services throughout the Mayland, Virginia and DC Metropolitan area. We take pride in every project we take on and strive to communicate and accomplish the goals each one of our clients sets out to achieve. These services include new construction, renovation and maintenance of HVAC and Plumbing systems for plan-spec, design-build and design-assist commercial and high-rise residential buildings.

Job Title: Class B Driver

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Perform safety (walk around) inspection of vehicle prior to operation- any concerns should be brought to the attention of the fleet manager prior to use of the vehicle.
  2. Operate manual transmission heavy dump trucks in accordance with all DOT and company requirements.
  3. Operate light duty dump trucks as required.
  4. Operate backhoe/mini-excavator and dump trucks.
  5. Connect and haul equipment trailers.
  6. Operate single and tri-axle dump or other vehicles with a manual transmission.
  7. Operate excavating equipment including backhoe and excavator for the purpose of loading onto a trailer for transport.
  8. Work in wet and dry ground conditions - may be required to go safely enter ditches/trenches.
  9. Use of a shovel or other manual excavation tools.
  10. Assist and work with others accomplishing excavation and or pipe repairs.
  11. Perform material and equipment deliveries to jobsites as needed.

Positions Requirements:

  1. Possess a current CDL Class B with airbrake license and approved DOT health card.
  2. English language fluency.
  3. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  4. Fill out and complete vehicle operation logs as required.
  5. Fill out and complete company required work tickets and communication.
  6. OSHA 10 certification.
  7. Physically able to enter and exit vehicles and equipment without assistance.
  8. Physically able to perform manual labor including lifting of 50 pounds, use of hand tools, shovels or other tools.
  9. Knowledge and experience of securing equipment for transport
  10. Ability to work after normal business hours of 6 am through 3 PM, and overtime as needed
  11. Ability to work outside in extreme temperatures (extreme heat or cold).
  12. Follow all OSHA and company safety requirements.
  13. Maintain a neat workman like appearance wearing company provided uniforms.
