Overview

Senior Sales Manager, Global Defense, AWS Global Defense – Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Would you like to manage a team driving the revenue for a leader in the Cloud Computing business for Global Defense? Would you like to be part of a team focused on increasing awareness and adoption of Amazon Web Services by engaging with key Global Defense customers, systems integrators and solutions providers who are reinventing their IT strategy by adopting and delivering cloud computing solutions? Do you have the business savvy, global government sales experience and the technical background necessary to help further establish Amazon as a leading cloud platform provider?

As a Senior Manager within AWS focusing on Global Defense, you will help shape and deliver a strategy to build mind share and broad use of Amazon’s utility computing services (EC2, S3, RDS, etc). Your responsibilities include developing and managing a growing book of business and establishing deep business and technical relationships through knowledge of the customer’s mission and environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Serve as a key advisor and member of the leadership Sales team to drive overall AWS market and service enablement strategy.
  • Drive strategic engagement with senior leadership, including CIOs and Program Offices, to shape enterprise-wide modernization strategies.
  • Meet and exceed quota.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in pursuit of strategic opportunities and mission-critical programs.
  • Present strategic reviews to AWS senior management on market expansion and capability development.
  • Work directly with senior leadership to shape enterprise-wide modernization strategies.
  • Translate mission requirements and business opportunities to AWS senior leaders, ensuring alignment between customer needs and AWS capabilities.
Basic Qualifications
  • 10+ years of technology related sales, business development or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of sales management experience
  • Experience in management of large, complex enterprise accounts or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • Experience managing global technology portfolios
  • Business development or consulting background, experience working with defense or national security or industry customers at the CxO/VP level
  • Analytical and data-driven, and ability to demonstrate balanced strategy and planning, and execution skills
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and analytically about business, product, and technical challenges, with the ability to build and convey compelling value propositions, and work cross-organizationally to build consensus
  • Track record of leading large-scale digital transformation initiatives
  • Experience working with NATO, AUKUS, FVEYs
  • Extensive experience with classified programs and secure cloud computing

The base pay for this position ranges from $168,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $278,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
