Job description

Join us as a Sr. Technical Program Manager on the AI Studios team within Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, where you'll drive the delivery of AI-powered production capabilities that are transforming how movies and TV series get made. AI Studios is building Nara, an AI-native production platform that empowers professional filmmakers to create cinematic-quality animation, live action, and VFX content at unprecedented speed and scale.

We are a fast-growing team operating as a startup within Amazon, with direct ownership of studio-level goals.
In this role, you are accountable for whether Live Action and VFX production capabilities ship on time and meet the technical, science, and UX quality bar required by our creative partners. You own end-to-end delivery across Engineering, Product, Applied Science, UX, and creative production teams to meet the needs of our studio's production slate. You'll translate production requirements into technical execution plans, manage cross-functional dependencies, drive prioritization decisions, and ensure delivery against ambitious milestones

This is an opportunity for exceptional TPMs who want to operate at the intersection of AI/ML and cinematic storytelling, with high ownership, autonomy, broad cross-functional influence, and direct impact on how the entertainment industry adopts AI.
Key job responsibilities
As AI Studios' Sr. TPM, you will own end-to-end delivery for complex, cross-functional programs spanning engineering, applied science, product, and creative production teams. You will:
- Drive program delivery for live action, VFX, and digital second unit productions

Translate creative production needs into execution plans with clear milestones, dependencies, and success criteria, making scope and sequencing trade-offs to protect critical path.
- Own release readiness for your production vertical. Ensure capabilities meet production-grade quality, stability, and workflow requirements before they reach creative partners.
- Partner with Engineering and Applied Science leads on technical trade-offs across AI/ML pipelines, media processing services, model integration, and creator-facing tooling. Evaluate technical proposals, drive architecture decisions that balance production timelines with platform durability, and assess emerging AI/ML capabilities for applicability to production workflows.
- Influence engineering investment decisions and org-level prioritization by synthesizing production learnings, platform gaps, and technology trends into actionable recommendations for leadership.
- Partner with Product to shape the roadmap based on production impact and strategic alignment, and translate priorities into executable delivery plans with clear ownership and timelines.
- Own cross-team dependency management and resource coordination across multiple concurrent productions

Negotiate priorities, unblock teams, and ensure sequencing aligns capabilities to production milestone dates.
- Communicate program status, risks, and recommendations to senior leadership across Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios. Exceptional verbal and written communication is essential: you will author program narratives, decision documents, and status mechanisms that frame trade-offs clearly for executive audiences.
- Interface with creative production stakeholders (directors, VFX supervisors, producers, production managers) to understand production needs, drive prioritization of platform investments based on production impact, and close the feedback loop as capabilities land.
- Define and track program success metrics tied to creator adoption, production throughput, and platform reliability. Report on progress through business review mechanisms.
- Contribute to AI Studios programmatic leadership: design and operate the mechanisms (e.g., intake, triage, status reporting, roadmap tracking) that scale our organization as production concurrency grows

Build repeatable frameworks that enable teams to execute independently and reduce coordination overhead.
A day in the life
Your morning starts with an engineering standup where you review sprint progress and unblock a dependency between the generation pipeline and the tooling integration team. You connect with a VFX supervisor on an active production to confirm that a capability shipping this week meets their approval workflow requirements. A production partner surfaces a blocking issue hours before a creative review

You assess severity, coordinate an immediate workaround, communicate timeline to the partner, and make the call on whether to escalate or absorb.Mid-morning, you run a milestone review with Product and Science, adjusting sequencing based on a model evaluation result. After lunch, you partner on a cross-vertical mechanism (production telemetry rollout) that benefits both animation and live action. You prep a status narrative for a leadership review, then close the day by clearing a resourcing conflict between two concurrent productions vying for the same engineering capacity

Throughout, you're operating with high ownership in a fast-moving environment where AI capabilities evolve weekly and production demands are real and immediate.
About the team
AI Studios is a high-ownership team within Prime Video and Amazon MGM Studios, building the AI-native production platform that is defining how cinematic content gets made with generative AI. Our team is small, fast-growing, and operates with startup intensity backed by Amazon-scale infrastructure. We work directly with professional filmmakers, animators, and VFX artists on active productions

We hold a high bar for execution, move quickly, and have direct visibility to senior leadership. If you want to work on an industry-defining product with real production stakes and ambitious creative partners, this is the role.
