Job description

We are seeking a strategic, analytically rigorous Senior Benchmarking and Strategy Program Manager to join the AMXL Global Benchmarking team. This role goes beyond study execution - you will own the end-to-end benchmarking lifecycle from intake through partnered implementation, lead complex multi-stakeholder studies, develop frameworks and methodologies, and translate competitive insights into actionable recommendations that influence operational strategy across a global logistics network. You will serve as a thought leader within the program, shaping the portfolio roadmap, mentoring peers, and driving cross-functional alignment to ensure benchmarking insights result in measurable business outcomes.

This is an ideal role for someone who combines deep analytical capability with strategic thinking, stakeholder influence, and a passion for competitive intelligence.
Key job responsibilities
- Portfolio & Study Leadership: Own and lead end-to-end competitive benchmarking studies - from scoping and methodology design through execution, analysis, and recommendation development, across multiple concurrent workstreams spanning delivery experience, customer journey, returns, packaging, service quality and more.
- Methodology Development: Design and refine research methodologies including vendor/carrier interviews, competitive journey mapping, and phase-gated infrastructure assessments to ensure rigorous, repeatable, and scalable study frameworks.
- Strategic Recommendations & Influence: Synthesize complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations with quantified business impact; present to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to drive investment decisions and operational changes

- Cross-Functional Program Management: Lead working relationships with stakeholders across Customer Experience, Operations, Learning and Development, Packaging Strategy, Returns, and Services teams to ensure recommendations move from insight to implementation.
- Implementation Tracking & Accountability: Own the connection between benchmarking output and operational action - track recommendation implementation, measure impact, and report progress to leadership through regular business reviews.
- Roadmap & Intake Management: Shape the benchmarking portfolio roadmap by evaluating incoming study requests, prioritizing based on strategic value and business impact, and managing the team's intake pipeline to balance capacity with demand.

- Knowledge Systems & Competitive Intelligence: Build and maintain scalable knowledge management systems that make competitive intelligence accessible, current, and actionable for partners across the organization.
- Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Host regular engagement forums (office hours, working groups, stakeholder reviews) to share findings, gather feedback, and maintain alignment across a broad partner ecosystem.
- Mentorship & Team Development: Provide guidance and thought partnership to junior team members, elevating the quality of study execution and analytical rigor across the team.

About the team
The AMXL Global Benchmarking team drives competitive intelligence and operational excellence across Amazon's worldwide heavy-bulky logistics network. Our AMXL network is a cornerstone of operations, facilitating the seamless delivery of oversized and specialized items to customers' doorsteps through four distinct building types: IXDs (Inbound Cross Docks), FCs (Fulfillment Centers), SCs (Sort Centers), and DSs (Delivery Stations). The Global Benchmarking team supports these building types and the teams that run them by executing end-to-end competitive benchmarking studies - including north star metrics, competitor analysis, and customer journey evaluation.

We translate best practices and industry insights into actionable recommendations that inform operational standards, enhance customer experience, and support AMXL's growth strategy.
