The Medical Records Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of medical records requests from various sources, including patients, their authorized representatives, healthcare providers, and other organizations. This role also involves facilitating responses to patients' rights requests related to medical records, as outlined by HIPAA and other federal and state privacy laws. Beyond handling requests, Medical Records Specialists perform a range of administrative tasks associated with health information to support Amazon One Medical's services.
The ideal candidate for this position is someone who excels in organization, demonstrates meticulous attention to detail, and can effectively manage deadlines

This individual should thrive in a team environment, feeling comfortable both receiving and providing feedback across organizational boundaries. This is a full-time, hourly, in-person position based at the Amazon One Medical Customer Care Center in Tempe, AZ


Key job responsibilities
- Access and prepare medical records as required for patients, authorized representatives, internal staff, and external organizations.
- Stay up-to-date with medical records and health information release regulations (e.g., HIPAA) to ensure accurate processing.
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, faxing and emailing confidential information, and using basic computer systems.
- Provide excellent customer service both internally and externally.
