What is an Amazon Agency Freelance?

An Amazon Agency Freelance professional is an independent expert who helps businesses manage and grow their presence on Amazon’s marketplace. They typically offer services such as product listing optimization, advertising campaign management, and overall store strategy, without being tied to a single agency or company. These freelancers use their specialized knowledge to improve sales, increase product visibility, and handle the day-to-day operations required for success on Amazon. Many businesses hire Amazon Agency Freelancers to gain flexible, expert support tailored to their specific needs.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Amazon Agency Freelance?

To thrive as an Amazon Agency Freelancer, you need expertise in Amazon marketplace management, digital marketing, product listing optimization, and data analysis, often supported by experience with e-commerce platforms. Familiarity with tools like Amazon Seller Central, Helium 10, Jungle Scout, and PPC advertising platforms is typically required. Excellent communication, client management, and problem-solving skills help freelancers stand out when working with diverse brands and achieving sales goals. These skills and qualities are crucial for driving growth, maximizing ROI, and building strong client relationships in a competitive online retail environment.

What are some common challenges Amazon Agency Freelance professionals face when managing multiple client accounts, and how can they be addressed?

Amazon Agency Freelancers often juggle several client accounts, each with unique goals, product lines, and advertising strategies. This can lead to challenges in time management, prioritization, and staying up-to-date with Amazon’s frequent platform updates. To address these issues, freelancers should utilize project management tools, set clear communication channels with clients, and regularly schedule account reviews. Additionally, staying engaged with Amazon's seller and advertising forums helps in quickly adapting to new features or policy changes, ensuring high-quality service across all accounts.

Job description

About Saylor

Saylor is a social-led, entertainment-first creative agency based in Los Angeles. Founded by former entertainment executives, we set sail in 2021 to build an independent agency that rethinks how brands communicate with today's audiences.

We believe every brand is an entertainment brand. That is why we craft ideas that move with culture, creating work that earns attention, sparks connection, and builds fandoms that last. Our clients include Netflix, Disney, Amazon, Hilton, Anthropologie, and more.

We're a tightknit crew of creatives, strategists, and makers who collaborate without ego, stay curious, and always show up for one another. We foster a supportive space where diverse perspectives are celebrated, hierarchy never blocks great ideas, and everyone is empowered to jump in, solve problems, and push creative boundaries together.

Position Overview

As a Freelance Art Director at Saylor, you will lead the visual and creative direction for high-profile pitch decks and brand and entertainment marketing campaigns. This role demands a dynamic, creative leader who can conceptualize and execute innovative designs that captivate and engage audiences across various digital and traditional media.

The Art Director will work across platforms (social, CRM, OOH, print, mailers, etc.), art styles, and a diverse set of client needs. We are looking for a passionate designer with exceptional social and editorial instincts, a love and knowledge of motion design across platforms, impeccable references, and the ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously. The ability to thrive in a rapid growth environment and to contribute to the shaping of the team as it grows is absolutely essential to success in this role.

Location and Salary

This is a freelance, contract role with a salary range of $80-$110/hr. This person must be West Coast-based. The ability to come into Saylor's Echo Park (Los Angeles) office twice weekly on Wednesdays and Thursdays is a plus.

Responsibilities

Creative Vision and Execution:

  • Lead the design direction for projects from concept to completion, ensuring alignment with client objectives and compelling storytelling.
  • Innovate and set the standard for RFP presentations and project designs, pushing the boundaries of creative possibilities.
  • Embrace Saylor's core value of curiosity, fostering an environment where innovative ideas thrive.

Team Leadership & Project Management:

  • Manage and mentor a diverse team of designers, guiding them in their creative processes and professional development.
  • Promote a culture of trust, respect, and open communication, ensuring collective accountability and efficient, collaborative workflows.
  • In collaboration with the Design Resource Manager and Creative Producers, promote synergy with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and within-budget delivery of projects.
  • Actively evaluate and refine creative workflows to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and collaboration, ensuring that the design process supports Saylor's objectives and fosters a productive creative environment.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Creative Director - Design, fellow Art Directors,  and other department heads to create cohesive and impactful creative strategies.
  • Mentor and uplift fellow designers and their ideas to promote collaboration and innovation, ensuring that all team members contribute creatively to projects.
  • Champion inclusivity, ensuring diverse perspectives are integrated into project workflows and creative outputs.

Innovation:

  • Continuously seek out and apply the latest trends and technologies in design and multimedia to keep Saylor at the forefront of the industry.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and adaptability, encouraging the team to explore new ideas and solutions.

Client Relations:

  • Serve as a creative liaison for clients, effectively presenting ideas and gathering feedback as needed.
  • Build and maintain trust through consistent delivery of outstanding creative work and by exceeding client expectations.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of extensive experience as an Art Director, preferably in digital and social media advertising, within the entertainment or related creative industry.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team of creative professionals.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing innovative design solutions.
  • Strong proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects), Google Slides, Power Point, Keynote, and project management software (Asana/Monday.com). Extensive knowledge of digital design processes, digital marketing, and motion design.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, capable of managing multiple fast-paced projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a commitment to developing and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Attention to detail with a keen eye for aesthetics and visual details.

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, health insurance, 401k, generous vacation, and great opportunities for growth within the company.
