Foundry Process Engineer

Mueller Water Products is seeking a Process Engineer for our brand new state of the art brass foundry. This Process Engineer will apply their solid understanding of engineering principles and professional practices to contribute to the ongoing development of Mueller's process control strategies.

Our process engineers are responsible for developing control strategies for manufacturing processes throughout the value stream.

  • This will include the identification, justification and delivery of process improvement projects utilizing current best practices with a hands-on approach.
  • Primary improvement focus efforts will span safety, quality, delivery, inventory and productivity alike.
  • This position will be heavily involved with new process evaluation, justification and integration.
  • Safety: First and foremost we are here to ensure a safe working environment for the valued employees within our facility and every business action must be rooted in that knowledge
  • This position will support manufacturing equipment integration and optimization
  • Root cause analysis liaison/specialist to assist in 8-step corrective action activities
  • New product and process introduction, evaluation and capability evaluations
  • Use of structured methodologies to drive continuous improvement in the manufacturing and engineering processes
  • Participate, contribute and possibly lead in the development of our problem solving culture within the organization
  • Develop and implement procedures and systems to ensure products meet our exceed customer expectations
  • This is a role best suited to those who thrive in the development of systems and methodologies and not simply sustaining preexisting processes

Required Skills:

  • Strong statistical analysis background
  • Manufacturing equipment integration
  • Effective problem solving skills (DMAIC, 8D, RCCM, PDCA)
  • Risk analysis (PFMEA, DFMEA)
  • Statistical methods (SPC, Pre-Control, Capability Indices)
  • Experience with capital project scope development, justification and management
  • Working knowledge and experience in Lean Six Sigma methodologies
  • Excellent PC/Systems knowledge and skills

  • PLC Programming

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or similar)
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • 2-7 Years of professional experience
  • Strong foundry background

Salary/Pay Range:

$67,568.00 - $92,906.00 USD

The compensation range above reflects a good-faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time (40 hours per week) employment as of the date of posting. Individual compensation may vary depending on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, the role, professional experience, job-related skills, achievements, and/or work location. The range listed is only one component of the total compensation package offered to candidates.
