Aluminum Welder/Fabricator
Position Summary
The Aluminum Welder/Fabricator is responsible for welding, fabricating, and assembling aluminum components and structures according to engineering drawings, specifications, and production schedules. This position requires strong fabrication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality welds while maintaining safety and efficiency standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
โข Perform MIG and TIG welding on aluminum materials and components
โข Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and work orders
โข Fabricate and assemble aluminum parts, frames, and structures to specification
โข Measure, cut, grind, and fit materials prior to welding
โข Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and structural integrity
โข Operate fabrication equipment including saws, grinders, drills, and other shop tools
โข Maintain welding equipment and work area in safe and clean condition
โข Work closely with production and engineering teams to meet deadlines and quality expectations
โข Identify and communicate material or production issues to supervisors
โข Follow all company safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
โข Assist with general shop duties as needed
Qualifications
โข Minimum 3 years of aluminum welding/fabrication experience preferred
โข Proficient in MIG and TIG aluminum welding
โข Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
โข Strong knowledge of fabrication techniques and welding safety practices
โข Ability to use measuring tools accurately
โข Forklift experience a plus
โข Valid driverโs license a must
โข Strong attention to detail and workmanship
โข Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Physical Requirements
โข Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly
โข Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work in a manufacturing environment for extended periods
โข Ability to work in varying temperatures and conditions within a shop environment
Work Environment
โข Manufacturing and fabrication shop environment
โข Exposure to welding fumes, sparks, noise, and moving equipment
โข Required use of PPE including welding helmet, gloves, safety glasses, and steel toe boots
