Job description

Position Summary

The Forming & Shoring Detailer is responsible for producing accurate, code-compliant shop drawings and layouts for concrete forming and shoring systems. This role supports field operations, estimating, and project management by ensuring structural integrity, constructability, and material efficiency across all assigned projects.

The Detailer works closely with internal stakeholders and field teams to deliver drawings that align with project specifications, safety standards, and FABco operational requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and produce accurate forming and shoring drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software based on project specifications and construction documents
  • Interpret blueprints and engineering requirements to design safe, compliant, and constructible formwork systems using pre-engineered data and industry standards
  • Perform material takeoffs and support project planning through accurate quantity and layout development
  • Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and field teams to ensure alignment between design, constructability, and project execution
  • Review, revise, and update drawings based on project changes, field conditions, and engineering direction
  • Identify design conflicts or inefficiencies and recommend practical, cost-effective solutions
  • Maintain organized project documentation, logs, and version control for all assigned work
  • Support field operations by providing technical clarification and drawing interpretation as needed
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, company standards, and safety requirements
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support business operations

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree or technical certification in drafting, engineering technology, or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in formwork/shoring detailing, structural drafting, or construction-related design
  • Experience in concrete construction, rebar, or structural systems strongly preferred

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD required; Revit or similar BIM software preferred
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, blueprint reading, and layout development
  • Working knowledge of formwork and shoring systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Ability to perform accurate material takeoffs
