Altitude development refers to the process of preparing individuals, athletes, or teams to perform at high altitudes, typically above 2,000 meters (6,600 feet) where oxygen levels are lower. This can involve specialized training programs, acclimatization strategies, and physiological adaptations to improve performance and reduce altitude sickness. The field is relevant in sports, military training, aviation, and outdoor expeditions, focusing on how the body adapts to reduced oxygen availability.
