Job description

Airbus Helicopters is seeking a highly skilled, innovative, and forward-thinking Senior Data Engineer & Architect to lead the CLS Program in the technical and data architect aspect of Alteryx. In this role, you will act as a consultative expert, bridging the gap between complex technical data architecture and strategic business requirements.

The ideal candidate is a master of the Alteryx ecosystem, possessive of an advanced technical background in extract, transform and load (ETL) data engineering, and cloud data platforms, and a proven track record of managing cross-functional teams. You will be responsible for defining data strategies, architecting robust data pipelines, and implementing high-impact dashboards that drive self-service analytics across the enterprise.

Primary Responsibilities 1. Data Architecture & Pipeline Engineering (40%)

  • Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of complex enterprise-scale data pipelines and workflows. Oversee the migration of legacy code and data workflows into modern cloud data stacks.

  • Utilize Alteryx and scripting languages (such as Python and SQL) to call third-party APIs via batch macros for on-demand and real-time KPI reporting for repairables and predictive maintenance.

2. Technical Leadership & Project Management (30%)

  • Drive complex IT strategies and manage end-to-end analytics initiatives using Agile Scrum methodologies.

  • Convert costly unscheduled maintenance and AOG (Aircraft On Ground) events into scheduled repairs by anticipating faults and warnings through proactive analytics.

  • Collaborate with the Tech Team to define joint product strategies, delivering unified front-end interfaces for "nose-to-tail" solutions.

3. Stakeholder Engagement & Mentorship (30%)

  • Maintain a consistent "drumbeat/cadence" of reporting, providing detailed planning, workload assessments, and critical path analysis to executive sponsors.

  • Partner closely with key business stakeholders, and IT admins to translate complex business challenges into exact technical solutions. Conduct office hours, user groups, and "lunch-and-learns" to mentor client contacts and upskill business teams in data literacy.

  • Coach and mentor Business Analysts to ensure technical workstreams remain on schedule and properly managed.
