Your opportunity 

We are seeking a senior, commercially oriented investment specialist to help Janus Henderson scale differentiated solutions at the intersection of alternatives, income, ETFs, and portfolio innovation. This role is designed for a top-decile candidate who can operate across private markets, public market implementation, and advisor-facing portfolio construction - translating complex investment capabilities into practical, high-conviction client conversations.

The ideal candidate will bring credibility across alternative investments, income-oriented solutions, active ETF implementation, and emerging portfolio structures. They will help position Janus Henderson as a forward-looking partner for advisors and institutions seeking differentiated sources of income, diversification, risk management, and scalable implementation across traditional and alternative allocations.

This is not a narrow product specialist role. It is a strategic growth role for someone who can connect investment insight, commercial judgment, client education, and innovation - helping shape how we bring alternatives, income, and ETF-based solutions to market.

  • Serve as a senior subject matter expert across alternatives, private markets, income solutions, and non-traditional ETF strategies
  • Lead client and advisor conversations on portfolio construction, alternative allocations, income generation, diversification, liquidity, access, and implementation
  • Partner with sales, national accounts, model portfolio teams, product, portfolio management, ETF capital markets, and marketing to accelerate commercial adoption
  • Help shape positioning for private credit, asset-backed finance, securitized credit, real assets, derivative income, structured outcomes, and hybrid public/private portfolio solutions
  • Translate complex investment capabilities into clear, practical narratives for advisors, home offices and platforms
  • Develop high-quality thought leadership, client presentations, training materials, playbooks, and market commentary that support differentiated positioning
  • Identify growth opportunities across client types, including RIAs/RIA Aggregators, ETF model firms, family offices. 
  • Provide field intelligence on advisor demand, competitive positioning, implementation barriers, product gaps, and emerging market opportunities
  • Contribute to innovation initiatives involving ETFs, models, alternative access structures, income-oriented solutions, and next-generation portfolio delivery
  • Act as a connective force across investment teams and distribution, ensuring that our strongest capabilities are translated into scalable client outcomes
  • Carry out other duties as assigned

Must have skills

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in asset management, alternatives, ETFs, portfolio construction, wealth management, or institutional distribution
  • Demonstrated credibility in client-facing investment specialist, strategist, consultant, portfolio construction, or product strategy roles
  • Strong working knowledge of ETFs, active management, private markets, alternative investments, income strategies, and multi-asset implementation
  • Ability to discuss portfolio construction across public equities, fixed income, alternatives, private markets, and income-oriented strategies
  • Proven ability to simplify complex investment concepts for sophisticated advisor, platform, consultant, and institutional audiences
  • Strong commercial instincts, executive presence, presentation skills, and ability to influence across internal and external stakeholders
  • Track record of partnering effectively with sales, product, portfolio management, marketing, and leadership teams to drive business outcomes

Nice to have skills

  • CFA, CAIA, MBA, or other advanced investment credential strongly preferred
  • Deep experience in one or more differentiated growth areas, including private credit, asset-backed finance, securitized credit, real assets, derivatives, structured products, model portfolios, or active ETFs
  • Experience supporting advisor education, home office relationships, platform due diligence, model adoption, or institutional consultant engagement
  • Familiarity with alternative access structures, interval funds, tender offer funds, BDCs, private funds, SMAs, ETFs, and model delivery frameworks
  • Strong understanding of how advisors evaluate liquidity, fees, risk, income durability, tax considerations, and implementation trade-offs
  • Existing relationships across key distribution channels, including wirehouses, RIAs, banks, independent broker-dealers, TAMPs, consultants, or institutional platforms

Compensation information

The base salary range for this position is $180,000-$210,000. This range is estimated for this role. Actual pay may be different. This position will be open through August 31, 2026.
