Job Purpose and Impact

The Poultry Procurement Lead will lead and direct complex and multi-dimensional merchandising work focused on the Chicken and Turkey buy for Value Added Protein. In this role, you will drive the coordination of a supplier base and fulfill transactions, delivering commodities that meet production requirements and specifications in terms of timing, volume, quantity and cost. You will develop a strategy and leverage an existing team to fulfill needs from multiple suppliers buying through multiple pricing mechanisms.

Key Accountabilities
  • Direct communication and interaction with business managers, supply chain, quality assurance, customer managers and credit manager to ensure efficient execution while also becoming a subject matter expert in turkey and chicken markets.
  • Develop short or long term strategies for multiple commodities and markets.
  • Oversee and review teams risk positions to determine if low, medium or high risk.
  • Provide direction and oversight to ensure customer and supplier strategies are developed and executed properly.
  • Develop plans and deliver results in a fast-changing business or regulatory environment, while providing leadership to the business as we grow our buy in the poultry category.
  • Support the development of processes to be able to view and manage our market risk including liaising with risk management team, finance, and business teams.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of six years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Three years of supervisory experience
  • Previous merchandising or procurement experience
Additional Posting Detail

The expected salary for this position is $150.000 - $200,000.Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
