Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement individualized physical therapy treatment plans aimed at preventing disability, alleviating pain, and restoring functional mobility according to physician prescriptions.
  • Oversee and guide physical therapy assistants in the implementation of care plans, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards of care.
  • Evaluate each client's functional status through thorough assessments, applying diagnostic testing on muscles, nerves, joints, and overall functional capabilities.
  • Conduct home assessments to make recommendations that enhance clients' safety and independence during their rehabilitation process.
  • Administer a variety of therapeutic modalities including manual exercises, traction, and massage, while instructing clients on non-manual exercises and functional activities.
  • Fit and adjust prosthetic and orthotic devices as necessary, collaborating with physicians to recommend modifications when required.
  • Participate in the development, review, and adjustment of comprehensive care plans in conjunction with interdisciplinary team members.
  • Document and report any changes in clients' conditions, making suggestions for necessary alterations to their treatment plans.
  • Prepare clinical records including initial evaluations, care plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring they are submitted promptly.
  • Educate clients and their families about therapeutic strategies, usage of devices, and overall rehabilitation goals.
  • Adhere to company policies by submitting clinical and payroll documentation in a timely manner.
  • Conduct on-site functional assessments as required, while working collaboratively to evaluate the utilization of community resources for clients.
  • Take on additional duties as assigned to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our clientele primarily consists of orthopedic patients recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic conditions limiting their mobility. You will be instrumental in helping patients regain their independence and improve their quality of life through targeted physical therapy interventions tailored to their specific needs.

Qualifications
  • Graduation from an accredited physical therapy program.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a physical therapist, preferably within acute care or home care settings.
  • Current physical therapy licensure in Virginia, maintained in good standing.
