Department Summary
The RAVN Aerospace Maintenance Department is a mission-focused, highly skilled team dedicated to ensuring the safety, readiness, and performance of our tactical aircraft fleet. With over 50 years of combined experience supporting military adversary air programs, our team brings deep expertise in tactical aviation maintenance. Staffed by certified A&P aircraft mechanics, technicians, quality assurance professionals, and logisticians, we deliver precise, efficient, and compliant maintenance operations. Our commitment to operational excellence is central to RAVN's mission, enabling safe, seamless, and reliable flight operations in demanding environments.
Position Summary
The ideal candidate for the Aircraft Mechanic position is a technically astute, disciplined, and team-oriented professional with a strong background in egress systems. Reporting to the Site Lead, this individual will perform organizational, intermediate, and limited depot-level maintenance on assigned aircraft, components, and equipment-including inspection, operational testing, repair, modification, and troubleshooting. The role requires advanced technical expertise to resolve complex issues and provide guidance and instruction to fellow team members. Candidates must demonstrate professionalism, productivity, and responsiveness to the needs of the company, colleagues, and customers. Flexibility is essential, as cross-training and additional duties may be assigned at leadership's discretion to meet evolving mission demands.
Requirements
  • Oversee the inspection, repair, overhaul, and maintenance of aviation life support equipment (ALSE), including helmets, oxygen systems, survival gear, and other critical aircrew safety equipment.
  • Perform detailed inspections, routine maintenance, and functional testing of egress systems, including MK-10 ejection seats, canopies, and explosive devices, ensuring all systems are mission-ready and compliant.
  • Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive maintenance schedules to maintain optimal performance and compliance with aviation safety regulations and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular quality assurance audits and inspections to verify compliance with military and FAA standards, identifying and correcting discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all inspections, repairs, modifications, and component tracking in accordance with regulatory and internal documentation procedures.
  • Collaborate with aircraft maintenance teams to coordinate repairs, upgrades, and replacements, minimizing downtime and maximizing fleet availability.
  • Provide training and guidance to aircrew and maintenance personnel on the proper use, care, handling, and emergency procedures for life support equipment.
  • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in aviation life support and egress systems; integrate best practices into operational procedures.
  • Assist in the development and continuous improvement of standard operating procedures (SOPs), policies, and compliance protocols.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory audits and inspections related to life support equipment and ensure full compliance with applicable standards.
  • Coordinate with procurement and supply chain teams to ensure timely sourcing and availability of parts, equipment, and consumables necessary for mission support.
  • Have or have the ability to obtain a secret clearance.

  • Martin Baker and OEM seat experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in aviation life support equipment (ALSE) maintenance, with a strong technical foundation in inspection, servicing, and repair.
  • At least 4 years of specialized experience performing inspections, overhauls, and routine maintenance on MK-10 Ejection Seats.
  • Deep understanding of aviation safety regulations, technical standards, and best practices related to egress and life support systems.
  • Proven track record in performing precise equipment inspections, diagnosing faults, executing repairs, and ensuring maintenance compliance.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Effective leadership and communication skills with experience supervising or mentoring diverse technical teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and maintenance tracking software; comfortable navigating digital tools for documentation and scheduling.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with a problem-solving mindset and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • Support Equipment Operator License (Tow Tractor, N2 Servicing Trailer, and Mobile Start Unit at a minimum).

Physical Demands
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
  • Regular use of hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, reaching with hands.
  • Regularly ascend/descend stairs.
  • Occasional aircraft hangar or warehouse environment with exposure to loud noises, fumes from engines and chemicals, unpredictable climate (hot/cold), and electrical shock, or trip or slip hazards.
  • May be exposed to or required to handle hazardous material.
  • Specific work hours determined by operational, departmental, or contractual requirements.
  • Occasional evening, weekend, holiday work may be required.
  • Travel to various work sites may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Work Authorization
  • Must be lawfully eligible to work in the United States and complete an I-9 Form.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
