Join Resicum International LLCResicum International LLC is seeking qualified Aircrew Survival Flight Equipment Technician I professionals to support organizational-level Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS) operations for VMFA-112 at Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base (NAS JRB) Fort Worth, Texas.
This position is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing, testing, certifying, and fitting Aircrew Survival Equipment (ALSE) supporting F/A-18 aircraft across multiple variants. The successful candidate will ensure all assigned survival equipment remains fully mission capable and compliant with NAVAIR technical publications, aviation life support requirements, and applicable safety standards.

Position SummaryThe Aircrew Survival Flight Equipment Technician I performs organizational-level maintenance, inspection, repair, modification, certification, and operational testing of Aircrew Survival Equipment (ALSE) supporting F/A-18 aircraft. Working under the direction of senior life support personnel, this position maintains aircraft survival equipment, oxygen systems, emergency communication devices, and associated life support equipment to ensure maximum operational readiness and aircrew safety.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections, maintenance, servicing, repair, testing, and certification of Aircrew Survival Equipment (ALSE) supporting F/A-18 aircraft across multiple variants.
- Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, modify, assemble, and certify aviation life support equipment in accordance with approved technical publications.
- Inspect, maintain, and determine serviceability of flight helmets, oxygen masks, torso harnesses, parachutes, survival vests, anti-G suits, life preservers, life rafts, survival kits, personal flotation devices, emergency locator transmitters, survival radios, emergency signaling devices, and chemical and biological protective equipment.
- Perform operational and functional testing of emergency communication equipment, emergency locator transmitters, survival radios, and signaling devices.
- Conduct electrical continuity checks, operational testing, and circuit verification of survival radios, emergency beacons, and associated electronic equipment.
- Inspect, maintain, service, and test aircraft oxygen equipment and associated life support components.
- Inspect pyrotechnic devices, explosive cartridges, initiators, and associated survival equipment in accordance with explosive safety procedures and technical directives.
- Replace life-limited components and time-controlled items in accordance with maintenance schedules and applicable technical publications.
- Inspect and maintain aircraft egress-related survival equipment to ensure compatibility, reliability, and mission readiness.
- Interpret engineering drawings, Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPBs), maintenance manuals, technical directives, inspection criteria, and manufacturer technical publications.
- Fit, adjust, configure, and issue survival equipment to individual aircrew members in accordance with established sizing and operational requirements.
- Demonstrate the proper operation, inspection, care, and emergency use of assigned survival equipment.
- Maintain inspection records, maintenance documentation, serialized equipment records, inventory accountability, and life support history files.
- Utilize specialized life support maintenance tools, oxygen servicing equipment, electronic diagnostic equipment, electrical test equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with Maintenance Control, Production Control, Aircrew Equipment personnel, Quality Assurance, engineering personnel, and Government representatives.
- Maintain strict compliance with NAVAIR maintenance procedures, explosive safety requirements, oxygen servicing procedures, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) prevention, Tool Control Program (TCP), hazardous material handling requirements, environmental regulations, and OSHA safety standards.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives that improve equipment reliability, inspection accuracy, maintenance quality, and mission readiness.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and work for extended periods.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
- Ability to safely handle oxygen servicing equipment, pyrotechnic devices, survival equipment, and hazardous materials.
- Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to distinguish colors and perform detailed visual inspections of survival equipment and components.
- Ability to operate specialized life support maintenance equipment and electronic diagnostic instruments.

Job Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of three (3) years of aviation maintenance or Aircrew Survival Equipment (ALSE)/Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS) experience, with experience supporting F/A-18 aircraft or other military tactical aircraft preferred.
- Demonstrated experience inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, testing, and certifying aircrew survival equipment and aviation life support systems.
- Working knowledge of aircraft survival equipment, Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS), emergency egress equipment, and aircraft oxygen systems.
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance procedures applicable to aviation life support equipment.
- Experience inspecting, maintaining, and servicing flight helmets, oxygen masks, torso harnesses, parachutes, survival vests, anti-G suits, life preservers, life rafts, survival kits, emergency locator transmitters (ELTs), survival radios, emergency signaling devices, and personal flotation equipment.
- Familiarity with pyrotechnic devices, explosive safety procedures, oxygen servicing requirements, and management of life-limited components.
- Ability to perform operational testing and certification of emergency communication devices, emergency locator transmitters, survival radios, and associated electronic equipment.
- Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, technical publications, engineering drawings, Illustrated Parts Breakdowns (IPBs), inspection criteria, and manufacturer technical documentation.

- Ability to obtain and maintain all required installation access credentials.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps experience as an Aircrew Survival Equipmentman (PR), Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS) Technician, or equivalent military specialty.
- Experience supporting F/A-18A/B/C/D, F/A-18E/F, or EA-18G aircraft.
- Experience supporting Organizational (O-Level), Intermediate (I-Level), or Depot (D-Level) aviation life support maintenance.
- Formal military or OEM training in Aviation Life Support Systems (ALSS), Aircrew Survival Equipment (ALSE), aircraft egress systems, or aircraft oxygen systems.
- Experience maintaining aircraft oxygen systems, parachutes, emergency flotation equipment, survival radios, emergency signaling devices, and other aircrew survival equipment.
- Experience supporting Foreign Military Sales (FMS), Contractor Logistics Support (CLS), NAVAIR, or U.S. Department of Defense aviation maintenance contracts.
- Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain one, if required by the contract.
