Role Overview:
Could you be our next Agent Licensing Manager? American Income Life is looking for an Agent Licensing Manager to join the team!
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of an agent, including onboarding, appointments, and compliance operations. Leading four direct supervisors, two training team members, and indirectly guiding a team of 40-50 hourly employees, you will ensure timely and accurate execution of licensing processes in compliance with regulatory standards and business objectives. The Manager provides direction, coordinates workflow, and partners across business units to support consistent, efficient operations. Success in this role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to lead through change, and the capability to address issues with professionalism while maintaining productive partnerships across the organization.
This is a Hybrid position located in Waco, TX.
What You Will Do:
  • Monitor department readiness and ensure objectives and assignments are met through established data processing systems.
  • Respond to phone calls and emails, answering questions and resolving issues; suggest alternatives when appropriate.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors and team members on system-related or process-related issues.
  • Ensure employees are properly trained and consistently applying company and department policies.
  • Support the development of methods to maintain timeliness and efficiency of workflows.
  • Escalate urgent or critical workflow, staffing, or compliance issues to executive management when needed.
  • Collaborate with supervisors to create and implement training materials and processes.
  • Serve as a point of contact for Sales Executives, Home Office Directors, State General Agent Owners, and Agents.
  • Partner with business units to resolve field or downstream issues impacting agents.
  • Oversee maintenance of licensing-related systems by coordinating with IT.
  • Build cross-functional partnerships to ensure agents receive proper support and to close workflow gaps.
  • Coordinate stages of licensing systems testing and implementation.
  • Serve as liaison with the Union, Sales, Accounting, Marketing, and IT to resolve operational issues.
  • Communicate with agents and state insurance departments regarding licensing requirements.
  • Oversee monthly account reconciliations and manage licensing-related projects.
  • Conduct one-on-one meetings with supervisors and team members to monitor workload, morale, and performance.
  • Lead field training sessions and organize regular leadership team meetings for planning and problem-solving.
  • Support employee engagement by facilitating team-building activities and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and support state audits to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Attend Sales meetings to engage with Agency Owners and Sales Executives, with occasional presentations.

What You Can Bring:
  • Minimum typing requirement of 40-45 wpm with excellent alpha and number recognition skills.
  • Associate degree with a focus in Business Management or equivalent related work experience (4+ years).
  • 2+ years in a leadership role, preferably supervising other supervisors.
  • Insurance background, especially in agent licensing, preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint, including mail merges, database queries, and advanced spreadsheet functions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to grammar and detail.
  • Ability to analyze information, make logical conclusions, and recommend solutions.
  • High level of accuracy, organization, and confidentiality.
  • Effective time management to meet department and production-driven deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills to develop supervisors and team members.
  • Familiarity with accounting basics and database management helpful.
  • Reliable and predictable attendance; ability to work full time based on position specifications.
