Job Summary

The Traffic & Technology - Senior Project Manager will be a team leader in the department, focused on Iowa operations.  This strategic role will maintain a balance between project management responsibilities, technical oversight, client engagement, team support and mentoring, and business development activities to ensure the successful execution of projects and overall growth and success of JEO.
The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Project Leadership: Lead and manage a team of traffic engineers and professionals in executing traffic engineering projects from initiation to completion.
  • Client Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, understanding their needs, and providing expert advice and solutions to address their challenges.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical guidance and oversight on traffic engineering, transportation planning, and ITS projects.
  • Team Management: Mentor and develop junior staff members, fostering their professional growth and ensuring the highest standards of performance and quality.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all deliverables meet client requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines, maintaining the firm's reputation for excellence.
  • Resource Allocation: Manage project resources effectively, including personnel, budget, and equipment, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Business Development: Support business development efforts by identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in client presentations to secure new projects.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments and teams within the firm, such as Transportation, Environmental, Site/Civil, and others, to deliver integrated solutions that address client needs comprehensively.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of the latest developments in traffic and transportation engineering regulations, standards, and best practices, ensuring compliance in all projects.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks proactively, addressing any issues that may arise during project execution to minimize potential impacts on project outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • 8+ years' experience working in the Engineering Industry
