Position Overview

Save Truck Services is seeking an experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to join our growing Iowa team serving the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids region.

As a Mobile Diesel Technician, you'll diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment at customer locations using a fully equipped company service truck. This position requires a self-motivated technician who can work independently, accurately diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues, and provide high-quality repairs with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer locations in a company-provided service truck
  • Diagnose and repair commercial trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance services (PMs)
  • Complete DOT inspections
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, steering, suspension, and air brake systems
  • Perform brake repairs, suspension repairs, engine repairs, and general mechanical work
  • Perform minor welding and fabrication as needed
  • Accurately document inspections, repairs, and recommendations
  • Communicate professionally with customers and dispatch
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized service truck

  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Experience using diagnostic software and electronic troubleshooting equipment
  • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds and work in various weather conditions
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented
