Job Description

The Sterile Processing Tech performs sterile processing of surgical instruments and equipment and maintains supplies for the Surgical Services Department. We have an opportunity for a Per Diem Sterile Processing Tech to join our Shriners Portland team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains clean environment in sterile processing department by wearing appropriate clothing, hair and face covering, and cover coats, and removing/changing aprons, masks, etc., as necessary.

  • Safely cleans, packages, assembles, sterilizes instruments and trays using aseptic technique.

  • Correctly operates, monitors, and documents all cleaning and sterilizing equipment in CS and OR area according to equipment manufacturer's instructions

  • Maintains appropriate CS and Surgery inventory by routinely counting, ordering, and restocking par level supplies.

  • Responds immediately to all requests from Surgery for different or additional items.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • 2 years experience in sterile processing

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT)

The pay range for this position is $24.16 - $36.23. Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
