Job description

About HomeHero Alliance

HomeHero Alliance is building the renovation finance operating system for underserved American homeowners, a SaaS and fintech platform connecting low-to-moderate income (LMI) homeowners, licensed contractors, lenders, and government programs through a single, compliance-ready infrastructure. Our proprietary Y-ScoreTM and LendHero Score (LHS) systems deliver AI-driven creditworthiness and project viability scoring in a market that has been chronically underserved by traditional lending infrastructure.

We are a Delaware C-Corp backed by a three-entity legal structure (HomeHero Alliance, Inc., Capital Bridge Coalition LLC/PBC, and CBC Foundation 501(c)(3)), with active relationships across CDFI partners, CRA-motivated banks, HUD-aligned programs, and government agencies. We are actively applying to Y Combinator's Summer 2026 batch and are building toward a pre-seed SAFE round.

This is a ground-floor opportunity. You will not be employee #47. You will be a co-founder.

The Role

We are searching for a Founding CTO who will own the full technical vision and execution of the HomeHero platform, from architecture to deployment to team building. This is a true co-founding seat: you will shape what we build, how we build it, and who we hire to help us build it.

You will work directly alongside the CEO to turn our working MVP into a production-grade SaaS platform capable of demonstrating real-data outcomes to lenders, regulators, and government program partners.

What You'll Own

  • Full technical architecture and roadmap for the HomeHero SaaS platform
  • Hands-on development of the core platform (full-stack: React/Node or comparable modern stack)
  • Development and productization of the Y-ScoreTM and LendHero Score AI/ML scoring models
  • Cloud infrastructure design, security, and compliance (AWS or Azure)
  • Recruiting, managing, and leading a growing engineering team (5+ direct reports as we scale)
  • Technical due diligence preparation for investor conversations and YC batch participation
  • API and integration strategy with lender, contractor, and government program partners
  • Ensuring platform compliance with fair lending regulations, data privacy requirements, and audit readiness

What We're Looking For

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience leading and managing engineering teams or IT staff
  • Demonstrated experience building and shipping production SaaS platforms; full-stack, cloud-native
  • Hands-on AI/ML development experience; you have personally built models, not just managed teams that did
  • Strong command of modern cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and DevSecOps practices
  • Entrepreneurial mindset; you are comfortable with ambiguity, ownership, and building from near-zero
  • Exceptional communicator; able to translate technical concepts to non-technical investors, regulators, and partners

Strongly Preferred:

  • Experience in one or more of: FinTech, PropTech, or GovTech
  • Familiarity with compliance-sensitive environments (regulated data, fair lending, CDFI/CRA frameworks, HUD programs)
  • Prior startup experience; ideally at the founding or early-stage level
  • Experience with or exposure to Y Combinator culture and expectations
  • Phoenix, AZ-based or willing to relocate (required for YC batch participation)

Compensation

We are transparent about where we are as a company and what we're offering:

  • Equity: 5%–10% co-founder equity, vesting over 4 years with a 1-year cliff
  • Base Salary: $80,000–$120,000, scaling with funding milestones
  • Title: Co-Founder & Chief Technology Officer
  • Full participation in YC batch (if accepted) and all associated benefits, network, and resources

This is a bet-on-yourself opportunity. We are looking for someone who sees the equity upside clearly and wants to build something that matters in a market that has been ignored for too long.

Why This Matters

Over 50 million American homeowners live in homes that need critical repairs they cannot afford to finance through traditional channels. HomeHero is building the infrastructure that changes that — not a charity, a platform. We connect the capital, the compliance, and the contractors in a market that generates billions in annual renovation spend with almost no technology infrastructure supporting it.

If you want to build something that generates returns AND changes how underserved communities access capital, this is it.

To Apply

Send your resume, a link to your GitHub or portfolio of shipped work, and a brief note (3–5 sentences) on why HomeHero's mission and technical challenge is the right fit for where you are in your career right now.

HomeHero Alliance is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
