Job description

The Opportunity

Are you ready to make a tangible impact at one of America's fastest-growing e-commerce companies? At Lab Alley, we're building the "Amazon of Chemicals," and we're looking for top talent to drive our continued growth. This role offers the exciting chance to design, optimize, and scale our core digital infrastructure, bridging the gap between our complex e-commerce storefront, backend logistics, and advanced customer relationship management platforms. You will get to orchestrate high-availability integrations, learn to navigate the unique architectural challenges of a rapidly scaling chemical distribution network, and pioneer modern cloud solutions. You'll be an integral part of a dynamic team, directly influencing our customer experience and operational excellence. If you're eager to learn, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and are committed to making things happen, this could be the growth opportunity of a lifetime!

Responsibilities: What You'll Do We believe in clear expectations, and these are the core responsibilities that will define your success in this role:

  • Requirements & Business Analysis (core)
    • Partner with stakeholders across Customer Success, Operations, Finance, Sales, and Marketing to gather, clarify, and document business and technical requirements.
    • Author clear, complete Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and functional specs, and hand them off to the development team for build.
    • Participate in daily development stand-ups; help prioritize, sequence, and unblock work.
    • Own and continuously improve how requirements are captured, documented, and tracked - from initial intake through delivery.
  • Cross-Functional Technical Liaison
    • Serve as the single point of contact for technology questions and requests from CS, Operations, and Finance.
    • Triage incoming requests: resolve those that don't require development directly with the relevant department, and escalate those that do.
    • Translate non-technical business needs into actionable technical work, and translate technical constraints back into plain language for stakeholders.
  • Development Workflow & Ticket Management
    • Own the intake and routing of website change requests submitted by Marketing and other departments through Asana.
    • Create, scope, and manage development tickets in Jira; ensure they are well-defined, prioritized, and traceable from request to release.
    • Keep requesters informed on status, timelines, and outcomes - closing the loop on every request.
  • Solution Architecture & Integrations
    • Help design scalable, secure solution architectures supporting high-volume e-commerce transactions and customer data synchronization.
    • Map and support robust API integrations across our B2B e-commerce platform (Adobe Commerce / Magento), CRM, warehouse management, and third-party logistics.
    • Evaluate existing systems and propose practical improvements to maximize uptime, data integrity, and cross-platform communication.
  • Governance & Documentation
    • Maintain comprehensive, current system and process documentation.
    • Help establish technical guardrails, security/compliance practices, and disaster-recovery considerations across the stack.

Qualifications & Expertise: What You'll Bring We're looking for individuals who are not only skilled but also eager to grow with us.

Must-Haves:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst, Solutions Architect or a Technical Project Coordinator - preferably in an e-commerce or high-growth environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to gather requirements from non-technical stakeholders and document them clearly (BRDs, functional specs, user stories).
  • Strong technical fluency: comfortable translating between business needs and engineering work, scoping development tasks, and reasoning about integrations and data flows.
  • Hands-on experience with project/issue-tracking tools such as Asana and Jira, and with Agile/Scrum practices including daily stand-ups.
  • Exceptional communication, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the judgment to know what can be resolved without development and what needs to be escalated.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and the strategic mindset needed to align technical solutions with fast-moving business goals.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience integrating modern B2B e-commerce platforms (like Adobe Commerce/Magento) with advanced marketing automation and customer relationship tools.
  • Familiarity with API design, data-pipeline integrations, and cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure).
  • Exposure to warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP/inventory, and third-party logistics integrations.
  • Familiarity with the data compliance and logistics challenges unique to chemical manufacturing, distribution, or highly regulated industries.
