Job description

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking items on the menu according to company standards. This role helps maintain food quality, consistency, and speed during service. The Cook is essential to creating a smooth kitchen operation and a positive guest experience. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include the following, and other duties may be assigned:

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion standards, and presentation guidelines. 
  • Set up, stock, and maintain your station before, during, and after service. 
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper storage, labeling, and temperature control. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout your shift. 
  • Communicate clearly with the kitchen team, expediter, and managers to ensure smooth service. 
  • Monitor food quality and notify a team lead/manager of any issues with ingredients, equipment, or timing. 
  • Complete prep tasks including chopping, portioning, and organizing ingredients. 
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety standards. 
  • Support teamwork by helping other stations when needed. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 1 (one) year culinary experience in a restaurant setting, required. 
  • Strong knowledge of vegan cuisine, required.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately. 
  • Strong knife skills or willingness to learn. 
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‐paced environment. 
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 pounds. 
  • Good communication skills and a positive, team‐focused attitude. 
  • Ability to keep calm under pressure
