Job description

This role is responsible for ensuring each trade business operates at a high level-delivering speed, quality, and cost efficiency at scale.

Requirements

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY1. Leadership of Trade Operations
  • Lead and hold accountable the Operations Managers across all internal trade divisions (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Truss, Cabinets, Interior Finishes)
  • Set clear expectations for performance, communication, and results
  • Develop strong leaders who can independently run high-performing operations
2. Accountability & Performance Management
  • Establish and track key performance metrics across all trade divisions (cost, schedule, quality, output)
  • Conduct regular performance reviews with each Operations Manager
  • Address gaps quickly and drive consistent improvement across all teams
3. Operational Excellence & Consistency
  • Ensure each trade division is running efficiently, predictably, and at scale
  • Standardize processes where needed while allowing strong operators to execute
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions that improve speed and quality
4. Cost, Pricing & Financial Oversight
  • Partner with Operations Managers to ensure best-in-class pricing and cost control
  • Review labor, materials, and production costs across all divisions
  • Identify opportunities for savings, efficiencies, and improved margins
5. Scheduling & Production Alignment
  • Ensure all trade divisions are aligned with company starts, build pace, and timelines
  • Eliminate bottlenecks and improve coordination between trades and departments
  • Drive predictable, reliable production across all teams
6. Cross-Department Alignment
  • Work closely with Construction, Purchasing, and Leadership teams
  • Ensure trade operations support company-wide goals and initiatives
  • Remove friction and improve collaboration between departments
7. Vendor & Supplier Strategy
  • Partner with Operations Managers in meetings with key vendors and suppliers
  • Support negotiations, relationships, and performance expectations
  • Ensure material flow, pricing, and partnerships support operational success
8. Communication & Leadership Rhythm
  • Lead consistent weekly meetings with Operations Managers
  • Create clear communication channels and expectations across all trade divisions
  • Maintain visibility into issues, wins, and performance across the business
9. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
  • Identify operational issues early and take decisive action
  • Solve problems at the root, not the surface
  • Drive a mindset of continuous improvement across all trade operations
