Job Description:

Gather, analyze and evaluate information from a variety of sources, such as databases, open-source websites, surveillance, intelligence networks or geographic information systems to assist investigators and prosecutors in the investigation and successful prosecution of crime.

Identify criminal activity trends and linkages.

Facilitate information and intelligence sharing among agency stakeholders.

Provie analysis of investigative information, accounting information or other specialized data.

Enter and maintain information in case management system.

Provide visual representations of information, for example- linkage diagrams, event timeline charts and association charts.

Utilize specialized computer software to analyze and organize information. Participate in training focused on intelligence analysis.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Competencies Needed:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques used by intelligence analysts.

Ability to gather, analyze and share information obtained through data.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and two (2) years of professional job-related experience in criminal intelligence, financial analysis, investigative analysis, and/or in a law enforcement agency.

Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.
