Overview

We are seeking a Director of Resident Lifestyle to lead resident engagement and programming across our Hamilton campuses-including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Healthcare. In this role, you'll lead a talented team in creating innovative programs, events, and experiences that promote connection, wellness, creativity, and quality of life for our residents. From developing engaging activities and building community partnerships to supporting families and collaborating with campus leaders, you'll help create opportunities for residents to live with purpose, stay connected, and enjoy every day.
Location: Hamilton, Ohio (Berkeley Square, Westover, Jamestowne)
Status: Full-time, salary
Schedule: Primarily daytime hours with flexibility as needed, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for special events

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for organizing, planning, facilitating and directing overall operations of the resident activities programming in accordance with current standards, guidelines and regulations, company policies and procedures
  • Hires, evaluates, schedules, motivates, monitors performance, and supervises department staff in accordance with company policy and department budget. Makes recommendations to the Senior Director of Resident Lifestyle with respect to staff evaluations, merit pay increases, reprimands, disciplinary actions and terminations
  • Confirms that a creative social atmosphere is present throughout the properties and ensures resident and family participation is happening through regularly scheduled events, activities, special programs and guest speakers, movie showings, exercise sessions that fit within the guidelines of the Resident Lifestyle program
  • Helps coordinate, set up and attends all special functions and Resident Lifestyle activity programs for major Holidays
  • Ensures Resident Lifestyle activities and events acknowledge and meet the cultural, religious and ethnic diversity and interests of the residents and their families
  • Must review documentation of activities and resident council to verify that state and federal requirements are being met
  • As directed, plans, schedules, prepares and conducts staff in service and meetings
  • Ensures knowledge remains current regarding senior activities through completion of continuing education courses and networking opportunities with other community professionals
  • Supports the Administrators, works cooperatively with Community Sales and Marketing Directors and assists with marketing events held at the Community to build the census of the properties
  • Accurately and timely performance of all administrative work connected with the position, including processing payroll timesheets.
  • Aids in community marketing effort through demonstrated proficiency and willingness to conduct Community tours, participation in all required marketing events and trough positive/friendly interaction with all potential residents, family members and referral source
  • Required to cover the job duties within the department during employee absences through personal completion of the duties, or if possible, delegating the responsibilities. Obtains and maintains all state required certifications/licensures

  • All other duties as assigned and/or appropriate to the position.

Qualifications
Education: High School diploma, Bachelor's degree preferred
Licenses or other required certifications: Must possess a certification from a nationally recognized accredited body as a therapeutic recreation specialist or an activities professional (90-hour course).
Experience: Previous supervision experience is required. Minimum 3 years' experience in leading and assisting with a variety of activities and programs with older adults.
