Job description

S&L Hospitality, along with this location, are seeking an individual to work as a (Line and Prep) Cook who will adhere to restaurant menu and follow food health and safety procedures. Ideal candidates will have prior experience in the heart of house, preferably previous prep and line cook experience, are able to work independently, are self-motivated, have a strong sense of detail, a passion for food and are able to work within the operational hours of the restaurant.


Key Requirements/ Qualifications:

  • Previous hospitality or food service experience is preferred.
  • Ability to push/pull/bend/lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and up to 70 lbs, and frequently 15 lbs.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age, or minimum age to work in a kitchen environment in accordance with state/local laws. 
  • Flexible schedule to meet business needs.
  • Detail-orientated individual who is able to focus on maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Ability to maintain a composed, approachable and professional attitude.
  • Must be able to communicate verbally and written in English.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time and frequent repetitive motions. 
  • Must have the ability to grasp and hold knives, utensils, and equipment with proper hand positioning; feel temperature and texture of ingredients; and maintain sensitivity to weight, balance, and surface conditions during prep and service.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and necessary equipment.
  • Prepare ingredients utilizing proper techniques and utensils. 
  • Ensure proper plate presentation and orders will meet the guest’s expectations.
  • Follow and practice food health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Keep a sanitized and orderly workstation, environment in the kitchen.
  • Check quality of ingredients, restock and replenish station as necessary.
This position is subject to successful completion of a background check as it relates to the responsibilities of the role.
