Job description

Overview
A Receptionist, or Front Desk Receptionist, is responsible for performing clerical tasks within an office setting to support daily operations. Their duties include answering and transferring phone calls to employees, sorting and delivering mail to employees and greeting visitors when they arrive for meetings with management or staff.
Role and Responsibilities
  • Understands and demonstrates attendance and punctuality are vital.
  • Ensure that all participants in the child care programs leave the site only with authorized persons and are signed in and out accurately.
  • Ensure roll call is taken, accurate and head count is accurate throughout the day.
  • Answer and direct phone calls in a polite and friendly manner
  • Welcome visitors in a warm and friendly manner, and answer any questions visitors have
  • Maintain reception area and all common areas in a clean and tidy manner at all times
  • Operate standard office equipment on a regular basis, including a fax machine, a copy machine, and a computer
  • Keep detailed and accurate records of visitor requests and of calls received
  • Receive deliveries; sort and distribute incoming mail
  • Take inventory of supplies and restock as needed
  • Maintain the general office filing system
  • Be familiar with emergency procedures and follow them.
  • Accept and properly receipt payments made to In The Zone
  • Answer any and all questions regarding any information that pertains to In The Zone Programs
  • Know and follow all In The Zone Policies and Procedures.
  • The ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, other agencies, participants, teachers, community leaders, and the general public.
  • Be able to perform any other tasks that would be related to the operation of In The Zone.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • High School diploma, GED, or higher
  • Ability to adapt to the center's needs and hour
  • Current child/adult CPR and First Aid certification or willing to obtain
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Must be eligible and pass MSDH Background Check
  • Must be able to type over twenty words per minute.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office programs.

Physical Requirements
  • Walking, squatting, climbing, hearing, swimming, standing for periods longer than one hour, pushing (50 lbs.), lifting (50 lbs.), sitting, pulling (50 lbs.), clear speech and good vision
  • Must be able to lift and move In The Zone equipment properly as need arise.
  • Must be physically able to participate in high-energy activities with students
