Job Description

MS NOW is looking for an experienced Segment Producer for All In with Chris Hayes.

This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East.

Responsibilities:

  • Research, write and produce daily segments, specifically the host’s lead monologue
  • Lead production of segments for digital platforms, including YouTube, Social Media & MS NOW’s DTC products
  • Determine video and sound for assigned segments and interviews
  • Communicate story development with senior producer
  • Be in control room during airing/recording of segments
  • Take part in editorial planning
  • Pitch story ideas
Qualifications
  • Experience producing compelling visual stories with graphics, video, sound and a strongly-written script.
  • Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • At least 5 years of experience in some form of journalism required (i.e. cable or network news, website, newspaper)
  • Superior writing and production skills
  • Strong knowledge of American politics
  • Strong research and reporting skills
  • Control room experience and breaking news experience is preferred
  • Candidate should be able to deal with daily script deadline pressure, including the lead segment which kicks off the show

Desired Qualifications:

  • Possess ability to develop story ideas, research and plan segments, specifically the lead segment of the show
  • Exceptional editorial skills: Ability to recognize stories with high potential for provocative, compelling television
  • Experience with content production for digital & social media platforms
  • Knowledge of current events, politics, and pop culture
  • Wide-range reader of news, including op-eds

Additional Requirements:

Salary Range: $93,000-110,000
