Position Overview


The Middle School Science Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, standards-aligned science instruction that fosters critical thinking, inquiry, and real-world application. This role supports Friendshipโ€™s mission to provide high-quality education that prepares all scholars for college and career success, while aligning with the Arkansas Department of Educationโ€™s academic standards and educator effectiveness expectations.


Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum

  • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons based on Arkansas Academic Standards for Science.
  • Utilize data-driven and inquiry-based instructional strategies to promote student achievement.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including special populations.
  • Integrate technology and hands-on learning experiences to enhance scientific understanding.

Assessment & Student Growth

  • Conduct ongoing formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
  • Use assessment data to adjust instruction and provide targeted interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance.

Classroom Environment

  • Establish a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment that promotes respect and collaboration.
