Job description

Job Title: Millwright LeadJob Description

The Working Mechanical Millwright Lead is a hands-on leadership role responsible for leading millwright crews while actively performing mechanical installation, maintenance, repair, welding, pipefitting, and equipment alignment activities. This position ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and to customer specifications while providing technical guidance and oversight to field personnel. The ideal candidate possesses advanced welding certifications, extensive industrial maintenance experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support project planning, estimating, and scheduling.

Responsibilities
  • Lead millwright crews in performing mechanical installation, maintenance, repair, welding, pipefitting, and equipment alignment.
  • Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and to customer specifications.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to field personnel.
  • Perform installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machinery.
  • Replace and align motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, compressors, and rotating equipment.
  • Install, repair, and modify mechanical systems and production equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and equipment specifications.
  • Perform motor and equipment alignments using laser alignment systems, dial indicators, and precision measurement tools.
  • Diagnose vibration, misalignment, and equipment performance issues.
  • Ensure proper installation and startup of rotating equipment.
  • Perform structural and mechanical welding activities in industrial environments.
  • Execute sanitary purge welding on stainless-steel process piping.
  • Perform TIG welding on stainless steel pipe and tubing systems.
  • Conduct MIG welding in accordance with AWS D1.1 certification requirements.
  • Fabricate and modify piping, structural supports, platforms, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Maintain welding quality standards and complete required documentation.
  • Layout, fabricate, and install industrial piping systems.
  • Fit and assemble stainless steel, carbon steel, and process piping.
  • Read isometric drawings and piping schematics.
  • Perform hydrostatic testing and system verification.
  • Assist with project take-offs and material quantification.
  • Support estimating activities for labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Participate in project scheduling and workforce planning.
  • Coordinate with project managers, customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Identify change orders and communicate scope changes.
Essential Skills
  • Advanced welding certifications.
  • Extensive industrial maintenance experience.

  • Ability to support project planning, estimating, and scheduling.
  • Proficiency in machine installation and pipe fitting.
  • Skill in MIG & TIG welding, D1.1, and purge welding.

Pay and Benefits
