EMPLOYER: Nexteer Automotive Corporation
POSITION TITLE: SwaaP Controls Engineer
HOURS / WEEK: 40
JOB SITE LOCATION: 1272 Doris Road, Auburn Hills, MI 48326
DUTIES: Nexteer Automotive Corporation seeks a SwaaP Controls Engineer based out of our office at 1272 Doris Road, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. This is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. This position does not require travel.
Develop Controls algorithms based on Predicting Driver intent. Develop the Predictive information algorithm based on Cloud data from other vehicles. Develop Arbitration algorithm between Driver inputs and Machine inputs (coming from environmental sensors: radars, camera, weather maps etc.). Integrate Lateral control algorithms (steering) with Longitudinal control algorithms (brake / throttle). Facilitate Data analysis and tools development for visualization and calibration of such algorithms. Perform Simulation to predict/analyze performance and bench testing together with in-vehicle development. Provide technical leadership for projects incorporating complex electromechanical ("Mechatronic") systems. Help in development of ADAS functions, diagnoses and corrects deficiencies in designs and prototypes. Use rapid prototyping tools for system development. Perform Simulation and Analysis of Dynamic Systems. Closed Loop Controls Algorithms for such Systems. Stay abreast of new ADAS technology, sensors, functions, etc.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Masters Degree (or foreign academic equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automotive Systems, or a related field. Experience must include: Experience with, gained through either employment or schooling: Signal Analysis, such as Frequency Analysis & Fourier Transforms, in Control Systems; Stability Analysis in Control Systems; Vehicle Chassis Design & Dynamics (CarSim); Automotive Powertrain Design; Computer Vision; Hybrid Electric Powertrain Theory; MATLAB & Simulink Software; Path Planning Algorithms; Automotive System Integration of Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, and Software components; Algorithm Deployment to Embedded Systems; Simulation Programs to Test Algorithms, Model Sensors, and Create Physics-Based Interactions.
OTHER: This position does not require travel. Hybrid position.
