Job description

We foster an inclusive culture and are looking for diverse, dedicated people to join Alcon. As a Manager of Strategic Sourcing, you will be trusted to develop global sourcing strategies that drive cost reductions, alternative suppliers, and business continuity within our Surgical Franchise. This is an onsite role based out of our Sinking Spring, Columbia Rd location.
In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Develop and execute annual Marketing Plans across the portfolio Develop and drive strategic sourcing initiatives that offer cost savings, introduce alternative suppliers, and provide business continuity
  • Identify and present savings business cases for alternative sources not limited to resins, molded components, chemicals, electro-mechanical, capital equipment and metals
  • Apply data analytics to identify trends within spend data to identify new opportunities and projects
  • Responsible for site budgeting, spend variances and project management in coordination with MST team
  • Develop and present business cases to SLT to secure buy in on various insourcing strategies and projects

Key Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+15 yrs. Assoc.+11 yrs.; M.S.+4 yrs.; PhD+3 yrs.)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 7 Years of Relevant Experience

Preferred requirements:
  • Ability to foster strong relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Strong analytical skills to influence budgeting and pricing options.
  • Experience in Strategic Sourcing with demonstrated ability to develop global sourcing strategies
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing regional and global RFPs
  • Ability to negotiate complex supply agreements and third-party engagements
  • Ability to perform scenario modeling, business case development, and total cost of ownership assessments
  • Strong analytical ability within excel, SAP, Power BI, Alteryx, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrated experience within Direct Materials (injection molding, devices, metals, chemicals)
  • Experience working with ambiguity and driving results
