This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging, and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.
The Electro Mechanic (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for handling complex tasks in developing and maintaining electromechanical systems, including troubleshooting, testing, and assembly. You will also assist in equipment calibration and repair, requiring advanced technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.

Specifics include:

  • Troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative and corrective maintenance for all production equipment including, technical problems in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems

  • Assisting others with technical problems within the team, including production personnel

  • Assisting in the parts repair shop to rebuild and restore used parts to an "as-built" condition, adding to the annual cost avoidance total

  • Assisting with improvements to the maintenance systems (Preventative, Corrective, Predictive, and Spare Parts)

  • Assisting with technical projects for equipment retrofits and upgrades, and with revising or writing SOPs and shop repair instructions

  • Optimizing manufacturing equipment and processes to provide balanced gains in product quality, output, product yield, and cost reduction

  • Assisting with completing validation protocols

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English

  • 3 Years of Relevant Experience

  • Work hours: 36 - 48 hours per week: (12-hour rotating night shift: 2 nights on, 2 nights off, and every other weekend)

  • Location: Onsite

  • Sponsorship & Relocation: Not Available

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Industrial Maintenance Experience

  • Experience in troubleshooting & repairing production equipment

  • A related technical school certification or equivalent training or experience (e.g., manufacturing technology, electrical engineering, etc.)
