Overview

Join Chenega as a Security Police Officer (SPO) supporting one of the nation's premier federal agencies, NASA. In this critical public safety role, you'll help protect NASA personnel, facilities, and assets while responding to emergencies, enforcing security protocols, conducting patrols, and maintaining a secure environment. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact through service, professionalism, and public protection.

Responsibilities
  • Protect NASA personnel, facilities, equipment, and property through armed patrols, access control, inspections, and security enforcement activities.
  • Respond to emergencies, conduct investigations, enforce applicable laws and regulations, and provide a visible security presence across the site.
  • Monitor and control vehicle and pedestrian access, perform facility and vehicle inspections, and interact professionally with employees, visitors, contractors, and government personnel.
  • Maintain operational readiness by following established security procedures, communicating effectively via radio and telephone, and supporting emergency response operations as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and able to meet all armed security officer requirements.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and be eligible to obtain a DoD security clearance.
  • Must successfully meet drug-free workplace requirements, including random drug and alcohol testing.
  • Must be able to complete and maintain all required certifications and training necessary to perform armed security duties.
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:

  • One year of military, law enforcement, or armed security experience.
  • Graduate of a federal, state, local, military, or recognized law enforcement/security training academy.
  • Completion of NTOA Basic Tactical Course or a comparable tactical training program.
  • Completion of NBTS, ICS-100, and ICS-200 certifications.
  • Honorable military discharge, if applicable.
