If you are mechanically inclined and want to learn how to turn your passion into a career, Foley Equipment invites you to join our Technician Internship program. As a Foley Intern Technician, you will embark on an exciting journey to bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world expertise. Kickstart your career as a skilled Caterpillar, heavy equipment, EPG (Electric Power Generation) or truck technician by becoming a Foley Intern Technician today.

What You Will Do in This Role:
  • Gain Hands-On Experience: Work side-by-side with our seasoned technician mentors, gaining invaluable hands-on experience.
  • Learn the Basics: Develop a foundational understanding of how diesel systems function, essential procedures, processes, and safety protocols.
  • Dealer-Specific Training: Access exclusive dealer-specific training programs to elevate your skills.
  • Travel is required for training and/or to assist at other locations.
We're looking for driven individuals who share our passion for excellence. The ideal candidate will:
  • Get the Education: This internship is tailored for individuals currently enrolled in or aspiring to enter a diesel technician certificate or degree program.

While previous mechanical experience is a plus, we value the following qualities:

Physical & Working Requirements: This role involves hands-on mechanical work in a shop environment. The employee must be able to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation. These functions may include:
  • Lifting components weighing up to 115 pounds, with or without assistance
  • Frequent pushing, pulling, and carrying of heavy materials
  • Climbing on and off equipment and working at varying heights
  • Standing, bending, and working in physically demanding positions for extended periods
  • Safely operating tools and equipment

Post-Offer, Pre-Employment Requirements: Final candidates will receive a conditional offer of employment contingent upon successfully completing a post-offer, pre-employment process. This process may include:
  • Drug and alcohol screening (including marijuana, as Foley is a federal contractor and subject to federal requirements)
  • Criminal background check conducted in accordance with applicable laws
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) review, where applicable
  • Job-related physical assessment to evaluate ability to safely perform essential job functions
