The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Administrative Services is recruiting for a Grants Administrator 2 located in Juneau, Alaska. What you will be doing: This position manages the full life cycle of complex state and federal grants and cooperative agreements, ensuring compliance with all requirements while supporting program staff.

Key duties include reviewing applications and proposals, analyzing budgets, managing awards and contracts, completing FFATA reporting, and closing out federal revenues and expenditures. The role also provides cross coverage for other grants staff to maintain continuity of operations. Knowledge of IRIS and/or TEARS, or similar systems. Communication: Communicates effectively both orally and in writing. Customer Service: Works effectively with clients and customers-including the public, agency staff, other agencies, and external organizations-to assess needs, provide information and assistance, resolve issues, and meet expectations.

Compliance: Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance. Grants Management: Knowledge of requirements, practices, and procedures for soliciting, receiving, reviewing, and processing proposals, and awarding and administering grants and agreements.

Reasoning: Identifies rules, principles, or relationships that explain facts, data, or other information; analyzes information and makes correct inferences or draws accurate conclusions. Technical Competence: Uses knowledge that is acquired through formal training or extensive on-the-job experience to perform one's job; works with, understands, and evaluates technical information related to the job; advises others on technical issues. Equivalent to those typically gained by: Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or experience in accounting, grants administration, budget administration, procurement, professional services contracts and/or providing administrative support to a business or organization.

Special Note: "Competencies" means a combination of interrelated knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviors that enable a person to act effectively in a job or situation. "Typically gained by" means the prevalent, usual method of gaining the competencies expected for entry into the job. "Training" and "education" in this guidance are synonyms for the process of acquiring knowledge and skills through instruction.

It includes instruction through formal and informal methods (such as classroom, on-line, self-study, and on-the-job), from accredited and unaccredited sources, and long-duration (such as a post-secondary degree) and short-duration (such as a seminar) programs.
