Job description

We are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician with strong hands-on expertise in fire alarm and Notifier or VESDA systems. This role involves fabrication, installation support, programming, testing, troubleshooting, and quality control of fire alarm systems. The ideal candidate will ensure all systems are installed and functioning according to code, safety standards, and project specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fabricate and assemble Fire Alarm (FA) and VESDA system components
  • Program, configure, and commission fire alarm systems (Notifier preferred)
  • Perform testing, inspection, and troubleshooting of FA and VESDA systems
  • Conduct onsite quality control (QC) inspections to ensure proper installation
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure timely project completion
  • Identify and resolve system issues, including wiring, programming, and device-level faults
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, test results, and system configurations
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA codes, local regulations, and company safety standards
  • Support pre-fabrication activities and assist with material preparation as needed

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Fire Alarm systems
  • Experience with Notifier systems
  • Experience with system programming, testing, and commissioning
  • Strong knowledge of fire alarm codes and standards (NFPA preferred)
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex system issues independently
  • Experience working in commercial or industrial environments
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NICET II certification or higher
  • Experience with VESDA (Very Early Smoke Detection Apparatus) systems
  • Previous experience in data centers or large-scale commercial projects

Compensation:
$35–$42 per hour (based on experience)
