Job description

Job Summary:
Akima Mission Optimization (AMO) is seeking a Windows Systems Engineer to provide advanced endpoint engineering and enterprise Windows infrastructure support in North Charleston, SC. The role involves Windows image engineering, endpoint configuration management, software deployment, and system integration across classified and unclassified networks using System Center Configuration Manager and Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager.
Responsibilities:
• The engineer will support multi-tenant lab environments and enterprise services while ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements and operational continuity.
• Manage and deploy Windows baseline images using SCCM/MECM.
• Create and deploy task sequences in SCCM/MECM, including Windows migrations, custom image deployments, and configuration management.
• Deploy third-party software using standard SCCM/MECM best practices or through third-party repositories integrated with SCCM/MECM.
• Integrate enterprise tools into SCCM/MECM environments, including WSUS, BitLocker, Windows Deployment Services (WDS), ManageEngine, Dell Command, and other related tools and services.
• Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and security hardening within classified and unclassified network environments.
• Conduct technical planning, system hardware/software/network design, development, integration, verification and validation (V&V), and fielding activities.
• Provide technical support, administration, and monitoring of Microsoft Windows systems within physical and virtual environments.
• Support operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end-user workstations and desktop applications.
• Lead data collection, conduct analysis, and develop and implement solutions associated with incident tickets and operational requirements.
• Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
• Develop and document solutions to complex technical issues.
• Maintain all qualification(s) required under the Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) framework for Privileged Access Administrator (PAA) roles.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active Top-Secret Clearance.
• 7+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure in a DoD environment.
• Experience administering and engineering Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM).
• Experience supporting Windows enterprise environments in classified and unclassified networks.
• Ability to perform technical planning, system integration, and validation activities.
• DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification (e.g., Security+)
Preferred:
• Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) Training (23 hours).
• Windows Server 2019 or 2022 administration training.
• Windows 11 administration training.
