Job description

Founded in 1920, Akerman is among the nation’s premier law firms, with more than 700 lawyers nationwide. Akerman is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to support attorneys in its Tax Practice Group in the Atlanta office. This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of three days per week onsite.

The ideal candidate brings five or more years of law firm experience, preferably supporting tax and/or litigation practices. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fastpaced, collaborative environment. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to attorneys
  • Prepare, revise, and format legal documents
  • Maintain electronic and physical filing systems
  • Assist with timekeeping and submitting expense reimbursements
  • Provide backup support to other administrative staff as needed

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of legal administrative experience in a law firm setting
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Demonstrated Tax law practice experience
  • Working knowledge of the Georgia Rules of Civil Procedure and state and federal efiling requirements

Experience with iManage, 3E, Intapp, and Chrome River/Emburse is a plus.
