Aircraft Configuration Engineer Overview:

The Aircraft Configuration Engineer has responsibility for aircraft configuration in the TRAX system and the Maintenance Technical Library. The Aircraft Configuration Engineer is also responsible for the development of technical documentation (manual revisions, Service Bulletins, Service Letters, IPCs, Engineering Task Cards, etc.) for incorporation, via Technical Publications, into the Sun Country Airlines’ (controlled) B737 Maintenance Technical Library. 

Essential Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Author and design Maintenance Manual, Illustrated Parts Catalog, and other related technical documents
  • Maintain the technical content of Sun Country Airlines aircraft maintenance manuals, component maintenance manuals, Illustrated Parts Catalogs, Wire Diagram Manuals, Equipment Lists, and other related technical documentation
  • Establish a baseline configuration for each fleet type
  • Establish deviations from the baseline due to model differences and/or modifications
  • Monitor (stay current) with Sun Country Airlines’ aircraft modification status
  • Any other duties assigned by management

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven engineering, computer, and technical knowledge experience
  • Excellent at articulating complex information to various audiences
  • Exceptional mathematical skills
  • Ability to apply principles of logic and scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
  • Ability to get an MSP SIDA Badge

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aircraft configuration management experience, particularly with Boeing 737 fleets 
  • Proficiency with TRAX or similar airline maintenance and configuration management systems 
  • High attention to detail and configuration accuracy 
  • Strong technical writing skills for developing and revising maintenance manuals, IPCs, service bulletins, task cards, and engineering authorizations 
  • Experience maintaining and controlling a Maintenance Technical Library 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with maintenance, engineering, and technical publications teams 

Compensation:

$90,000-110,000.00. This is the base compensation for this role.

This job primarily operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets.
